Need your advice & help in selecting a clinic for IVF ( ICSI)

Hi guys

I am new to this forum and so happy that I came accross of this very helpful site!!!
I was sick with worry about what to do next?
Is the baby road already closed for me? Did I miss my chance?
Reading the threads here I felt that I do have a HOPE in becoming a mother!!!!

I need your help to choose a best clinic for my next IVF - I have had implantation problems in the past ...
So what would you suggest?
Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks!!!

Hi Mila,
I am so sorry that you had 4 failed IVFs.
Have you had all 4 cycles at the same clinic? And if so, did they make any changes after the cycles failed? If they didn't make changes, that might be a reason to consider moving to another clinic to see if a new approach could help you.
It is a very difficult decision on what to do next, but maybe from reading around the site you can get a sense of what options are available to you.
Wishing you lots of luck with whatever you decide,
M

I am currently being treated at the Lister in London

I feel that egg doners are are not given as much attention as full paying patients (I have paid top up of £1450 for ICSI and £500 for Blastocyst if needed). My inital consultation only last 5mins before the Dr rushed off (although he was very nice) , the consultant that finished the consultation seemed disinterested to the point of not even knowing my ethnic origin (and it is very obvious, believe me!)

Most of the staff are very friendly especially the ladies that do the scans, however one of the egg donation nurses (Lizzy) is extremly unfriendly and unhelpful. It is not what you need when you are already going through a very stressful process.

If this cycle is unsucesseful, I plan to go to ARGC or Barcelona and pay for treatment.

Has anyone else experienced this at Lister or is it just back luck on my part that I have had this particular nurse?

Hi and thank you!

i am feeling very positive about our future as both of us are healthy and we hope with changing the clinic we can achieve results. I am a kind of a slow responder but manage to produce enough eggs for successful fertilisation.... Need to get a successful implementation now!! ?(

Just completed the documents to ARGC to send but...
still not sure about logictics as we don't live in London...
How many time one has to attend the appointments? Could anyone give me a breakdown of their treatment cycle?

thank you!!!!!!!

waiting game - pregnancy blood test in 5 days

Hi everyone

have not been in touch lately - sorry

had so much of info and emotions to cope with - that talking here seemed like a luxury

so we had another IVF cycle (flare) - first time iwth ARGC

I was so stressed to start with - until I realised how they run their treatment and then - I tell you it always felt like we are in best hands possible

every morning - blood test
all hands and stomach in bruises and mental exotion...

anyway now I am through to the final stage -waiting game

had 2 blasto embryos transfered in me last friday (13 nov - hope my lucky day!!!) and ...

I am doing mainly a veg life style now - sitting on sofas, half lying down..was out for short time walking yesterday
and aslo as I am short on clexane I went with my friend in her car to the nearest Sainsburry pharmacy to order.

but I am on my laptop a lot - is it good or bad all this computer heat and vibration - don't know

I am ok but feeling strange - some strange pulling feeling
in the low abdomen part - kind of swallen - started like 2 days ago...

feeling a bit better with the warm hands gently massaging
and warming up...

It is just normal or??? As you can imagine I am very worried

don't want to drink much at all - forcing myself - doing pretty well I think - about 2-3 litters

anyway - fingers crossed and praying hard as I am getting desperate in my mission to have a baby!

my bloodtest is on 23Monday - please pray for me

it has happend!!!! ++++++++++++++++

I am still in a happy-shock stage - but

the pregnancy test is positive and I am 4+weeks preg!
don't feel much - only quite funny things
if there is a kind of pain in the stomach I know - the air is travelling there (feels quite bloated)
and burbing started - no not load - but again air just comes out after I have eaten
I feel that I slimming in the stomach now a bit - with the drugs i put almost a dress-size... so it is nice knowing that someone inside is helping me to use up the calories stored in me ;-)

the hormones are growing nicely 370 yesterday ( not as huge as some girls are having!)

but it seems that my body is fighting it with the help of the immune system?
so they are watching me closely - maybe need another IVIG on monday

My advice to everyone - don't hesitate to choose this clinic - we r in safe hands there and they know their stuff!!!!
the only downside is the cost and efford required BUT we want a baby don't we - so just go for it and take lots of credit cards - you will need them all ...

well, will talk later

Congrats to you! Have been thinking about ARGC for the last couple of days, especially as I found out that someone I say hello to got pregnant first time there with twins! I am still a bit undecided about clinics at the moment but your last comment is ringing in my ears....

Wow! Many congratulations MilaR!!!!
high5
I am so glad you felt you were in such good hands, you were and you still are! This clinic is the only one I have been to that truly supported me through the first trimester (lots of scans and blood tests to make sure everything was progressing as it should be) and beyond!
Congratulations again, such lovely news!

ARGC -good choice

Hi there

when choosing a clinic you need to consider a lot of factors - if you like some advise & help - just ask

but I tell you about me - in my age after trying for 8 years and having 3/4 IVFs in the Leeds clinic - I have noted the difference in everything!!!!!
I wish now I havenot wasted my years for Leeds and came to ARGC then! Now question about money - depending on your body situation the costs are diffrent but you need to put a side 16+ in order not to worry about anything.
it is time consuming, wearing you out to go for daily blood tests, etc - I am covered with bruises BUT i am pregnant now

and fingers crossed - we have a heathly baby or two ;-)

good luck sister!
