Round 2 Starts Today

Unfortunately a/f paid her monthly visit today so after speaking to new Manager after time off for the IUI apts, 24th April 2007 marks Round 2 of IUI for myself and DH (though Round 1 of IUI didn't count as we overstimmed).

So ...

I start taking Norethisterone on Day 19 (12th May 2007).
I start downregging on Day 21 (14th May 2007).
I have my baseline blood test on Day 32 (25th May 2007 @ 8am).

I asked what would happen after the first IUI was abandoned. She said they would start me off slow to see how I got on. She was okay about my dad picking up the drugs for me as its not as easy to collect them now in different job so he is hopefully collecting them tomorrow.

So all systems go for Round 2 (or Round 1 technically).

Thank you K, S and N. Its a good feeling starting again! Felt like months since I was last doing it as I changed jobs and all the whoo-ha of that. Thankfully new boss was ok with the apts etc so all systems go! Got heavy painful a/f to deal with in meantime!

Had a baseline blood test Friday but unfortunately levels not low enough so have to carry on d/r and test again next Friday. Bit disappointing but not too bad as last time it was 3wks of d/r before I had the baseline blood test and this time it was tested after 2wks. Not had a bleed though after the norethisterone tablets though. They have tested on the blood but that result hadn't come back prior to the nurse going home so she is going to check Tuesday. She's hoping the next week of more d/r will bring it onmmmmmm

2nd go at baseline blood test was much better. Level now 107. So have started the injections with 1 ampule of liquid to 1 ampule of powder. First injection into bum went ok - he was a bit worried he'd forget how to do it but was fine. Next blood test: 6th June @ 8am.

Had blood test done today. Level going up as they wanted. They want to be cautious with the injections as they don't want to risk overstimming again so got to do a 1-2-1-2-1 til Sunday ie: 1 powder Wednesday night; 2 powders Thursday night; 1 powder Friday night; 2 powders Saturday night and 1 powder Sunday night. Then go back Monday morning for a blood test and a scan. So at least its so far so good. I'm not getting too excited this time as it was all going well last time and then it had to be abandoned. I'm just cautious optimistically very happy!

Hello got results:

Left ovary: she couldn't see it as there was (WARNING: TMI) too much gas in my bowel so no matter how she tried to move probe, it wouldn't come into view. I just hope it is behaving itself til we see it again Friday morning.

Right ovary: 2 x 10mm follicles and several small ones.

Endometrium: 10 (mm I presume).

Blood test result was ok so they want me to continue with the 1-2-1 etc for the ampules and have another scan and blood test Friday. I did ask her if that would be ok as last time it was fine on the Friday and then overstimmed by the Monday. That time they doubled ampules in that last week so I overstimmed. This time the 1-2-1 process should stop that so everyone send "no gas" vibes to my bowels please!

IUI Insemination on Monday!!!!!!

Can't believe I'm actually saying this but ...

happydanceMY FIRST IUI INSEMINATION IS MONDAY!!!!!
(18th June)

Luckily today she could see left ovary (thanks for all those "no gas in the bowel") as well as right ovary. Left has 1x20mm and right has multiple small at 10mm. Endometrium is 12mm. Blood serum level is 771. So its good to go for Monday!!!

Last injection tonight with 1 powder ampule. Keep sniffing until 8pm Sat night. Ovitrelle HCG injection at 10pm Sat night. Room booked for DH at 8am Monday and then its all systems go.

Quite excited now! The nurse who has been seeing me since first time at the clinic was even more excited I think as she knew how disappointing it was for me when they had to abandon last time!!!
