iui.

:hi:everyone my name is nicky i am 32 years old my dh is 28 we have been together almost 10 years been married nearly 3 years we have been trying for a baby for 9 years no joy yet. Have been told nothing wrong with either of us we are just unexplained have had 3 iuis sadly they were [zx250] had to go on the list for our last 3 attempts as we get 6 tries of iui here in derby, if that fails then i would need to go on the list for 1 year or so wait for ivf which will be funded by the nhs the 6 tries of iui are also funded by the nhs.
If we wanted to go private for ivf while we are waiting then it would cost us about £3500 but could only have one go otherwise we would lose the funded go.
I would love to hear from anybody else experiencing the same problems i would also like to chat with anyone who is finding it hard to conceive i do find these chat rooms helpful and comforting cant wait to start chatting love and [zx248]nicky xx.

Hi Flossy

My dh and I are also in the unexplained group, nothing at all identified as being wrong with either of us. As you can see from my signature we have had 1 failed IUI with super ovulation, and 1 failed attempt which didn't even make it to insemination. So about to start on 3rd attempt with injections starting on Monday. We get 4 NHS attempts and then 1 IVF, but I don't think our 2nd go counts as we didn't reach the insemination part.

Each round of treatment is soo stressful, I've started getting anxious already and am now finding it really hard to sleep. dh is really great but of course there's nothing he can do as it's us ladies who have to go through all the hormonal changes and mood swings etc which the drugs cause, not to mention the stress of having to inject at all.

This site helps a lot especially if you don't have any one else around to talk to about how you're feeling.

Hi i'm due to start my 3rd iui early this year when i've saved enough money uo. I already have a daughter so we have to pay. I was told at my hospital that if iui didn't work after 3 attempts it was very unlikely it would so at my hospital only 3 attempts are allowed.
If this doesn't work then i will go onto ivf if i can afford to pay for that.
we are also unexplained as all the tests and operations have come up ok so every month we are hopefull after 6 years of trying i sometimes feel like giving up.
lizzy
Trying to concieve 7 years already got a 12 year old daughter who is gorg!!!!!!!!!!!

1st iui 26 june 06 failed!!!!!!
2nd iui 6 dec 06 failed!!!!!!!!!!

Problems at work.

:hi:Everyone,
I am currently experiencing problems at work with regards to getting time off to attend my iui sessions. Nobody who i speak to in human resources as even heard of iui they have only heard of ivf. When i go for iui i have been told that i need to take it as holidays or make the time up which is hard to do with the hours i work.
But as some of you will know iui can be painful and uncomfortable and as i do alot of lifting at work sometimes its impossible for me to go back to work immediately after treatment i have a meeting with human resources next week can anybody give me any tips to put my case over which will make them understand that this is know holiday :thanx: love nicky :xxx2:.

HUn
I agree with Kara - I have to take holidays for any hospital stuff that doesn't fall under the DDA - apparently ivf is your choice ??? ?( so it was my leave that I had to use.
I used all of it mostly with my first cycle and holiday and had none left for this cycle, so basically got signed off work sick for 3 weeks.
I was more relaxed not thinking about work either so def ask your GP hun.

your clinic may even offer a sick note to you.

Starting over again (iuis).

:hi:Everyone,
We will be starting our last 3 attempts of iui next week i will have a scan on wed at 9.20am and then hopefully we should have our 4th iui on friday
happydance happydance happydance so fingers crossed. As you can see from my forum we have had 3 attempts of iui already using clomid but sadly :tear: :tear: they failed. My consultant said today that i dont really need clomid as we are producing healthy sperm and folilcles i took them really for a boost so we have decided to have one try without clomid. I really do hope that we will get a :BFP: from one of these last 3 attempts of iui.
Well :goodluck: to you all nicky :xxx2:.

The more relaxed you are the better. Did you read inthe Sunday Times a ew months ago that natural IUI and IVF where only one good foll is produced, seems anyway,to be just as effective?

Sounds good!

Everyone :hi:,
Dh and i had a long chat last night and we have decided just to go for it and have our last 2 iuis now instead of having a break from it otherwise we will be thinking :what: ifs and then its to late. So i go for my iui foilicle scan on the 24th feb to see if everything looks ok to go ahead with the iui insemination the next day or the day after. I still feel upset but i know that one day we will have our own baby and our lives will be complete and that means everything to us take care :goodluck: and lots of babydust babydust babydust nicky.

i'm glad for you that you feel ok enough to go again. its always a disapointment when you get the - result but at least you will be working towards your goal again.
i find that while i'm busy trying ie..charting, waiting to see if AF arrives, DR, stimms etc... it makes you feel like theres light at the end of the tunnel. i just hate all the waiting around.

good luck to you for this IUI :goodluck:

What to drink.

Everyone :hi:
I know this is gonna sound soo stupid but i just want alittle [zx120] on what to drink and what not drink during :2ww after the iui insemination . The reason why i am asking is that my sister inlaw had ivf a few years ago now and they had twins. She was telling me to drink lots of water and i think its called red tea etc etc so :what: i am asking is will it be the same for iui etc etc. The thing is i dont like water i drink alot of milk but with no fat in it at all i also like all the different teas that you can buy. Sorry i know this sounds really mad :duh: but any advice would be really greatful :thanx: nicky.
Ps I go for a iui foilicle scan on sat 24th and then hopefully we shall go ahead with the iui insemination either the next day or the day after it will be our 5th iui attempt cause sadly our first 4 iui attempt were :BFN:.

Milk and water are both good, but like you I hate drinking water. Try, in stead, drinking what we call Rooibos tea - up there it is sold as Red bush tea. It's very good for you, lots of anti-oxidants and no caffeine and you can drink it hot, cold, white, black, sweetened or not - it's good any way you take it...

My 5th iui diary.

Everyone :hi:
We had our 5th iui insemination on the 28th feb and it went really really well the nurse told us that they had put an excellent amount of those happy little sperms. I am having alot of twinges but that could be a mixture of me ovulating and the insemination i did a digital ovulating test here at home on tues the 27trh the day before our iui insemination and there was this smile2 face on the screen i was really shocked and soo excited happydance happydance i needed to look at it a few times to believe it. I shall keep you posted through my take care and to you all love nicky.
