Yes Hopefully2018, this is my first go - i'm completely peeing myself about the whole process but I'm trying to relax lol Will you start your spray on the 6th September then? Great to have someone at the same stage as me - we can defo compare :)

How have you found everything so far with RFC compared to the GCRM?

Ggirl you'll be fine. The first injection is always the worst coz you panic that your doing it right etc. I just tried to think of it as a positive and that every injection was getting me closer to potentially being a mum. I'm on norethisterone tablets instead of sprays. If I'm totally honest our experience with GCRM was terrible. There was a number of errors made and it just continued throughout. They were all very nice but I lost faith in them after about the 3rd thing that happened. My hubby and I are the most laid back people ever so it takes a lot for us to be unhappy. I thought the RFC lady was great and seemed more experienced and clued in than the GCRM ladies.

Oh right so you on tablets instead? How do they decide that then I wonder? There never seemed to be any discussion about my treatment, it was just automatically sprays and then injections 2 weeks later. And i'm sorry to hear your experience with GCRM wasn't good, it seems like the whole thing is hard enough without mistakes being made - I found the nurse we saw in RFC was fantastic as well, she was extremely positive and made me very confident about the whole thing and was able to answer all the questions we had so i'm hopeful that the process will be a smooth as it can be :)

This couple of weeks is dragging in though - I just want to get started now!

Yeah it was disappointing especially with having to pay for it. Saying that I don't think the terrible experience made any difference to the outcome as it's just really down to that wee embie settling in. I still have one frozen one left with them. I'm not sure why they use different methods. GCRM used tablets for me as I had to down reg for a longer period than normal due to very irregular periods and the Xmas break. Yeah my experience with rfc was the same. I had loads of questions too and she knew everything and filled me with loads of confidence. I have had loads of experience with nhs with other medical things and I couldn't fault them at all. So excited to get going again! Not too long now

HI Everyone, just thought I would let you know that the owners of the new George Belfast hotel is offering couples to enter a competition for free IVF. The couple experienced problems themselves and ended up with twins. The news article is on Belfast live online news. Although my first cycle didn't work I was very fortunate to have help from family to fund it. I'm currently about to start on nhs ( not sure if there is any conditions that you can't apply if currently going through ivf) just remember reading a couple of stories on here that some women had exhausted all options and private wasn't possible.

Aww thanks Keepsmiling123...i'm so happy for you! I wish you all the best with your pregnancy :)

And yes Hopefully2018 I can understand why that would be extremely frustrating, you think by paying privately you will get a better service not a worse one - fingers crossed this is your time!!
I have a very regular cycle and they said my AMH levels were perfect so I think that's why I've ended up on the spray rather than any other treatment options perhaps? I have also had lots of experience with NHS for medical issues and have never had a problem (other than waiting lists) so I have to say i'm very happy with the service so far and have every confidence they will do their best for us. Lets be confident that you and I will be celebrating in a month or so's time Hopefully2018! xx

BFN here. No surprise as I’d been bleeding since Wednesday. We aren’t in the position to pay privately for ivf. So for us our journey is over. We had hoped to become parents. Now it’s just a dream.

I’ve really enjoyed following this thread over these last few months. Congratulations Keepsmiling and all other BFPs, May you have safe and healthy pregnancies. Much love x

Hi ladies

I have my consent appointment on Friday ...can anyone tell me when I will start treatment after this ? I know it's on day 21 but if I am on day 2 or 3 of cycle on Friday can I start on day21 of this cycle or do I have to wait for next day 1? If I do it will be such a long wait I really hope I can hold out and that Friday will be my day 1 but it's not looking likely ..if it is can I ask for my schedule on Friday ? I'm not sure what way this all works my previous cycles have been with gcrm xx

My post must have been delayed as I rang on the Friday and only got mine yesterday but either way i'm happy to have it - things are pretty much the same as I was lead to believe in my planning appointment so i'm ready to get started :) I start sprays on the 5th Sept, injections on the 22nd, egg collection on the 4th Oct and transfer on either 7th or 9th Oct...…..well obviously that's if everything goes to plan :)

Ah ok not too bad then, at least you know what you are at - I would have been having a kitten by now if I hadn't got mine lol

I'm not gonna lie and i'm really anxious for tomorrow - i'm worried i'm going to do it wrong and the spray won't work, i'm also experiencing a lot of period symptoms already which i'm worried may mean its on its way and it's too late for the spray to stop it from coming - they told me it should delay it for a good week or more!?

Also i'm thinking of keeping a bottle of the spray in work and one at home so that I can take it in the morning when I get in and then at home in the evening but i'm not sure if its a good idea to have 2 bottles open at the same time?

Not too bad, I wasn't sure I had done it right as not much felt like it came out but then I felt my nose running and about 10 mins later I could taste a bit of the liquid coming down my throat......same again last night so i'm worried not enough of it is being absorbed if it is running down my throat but I can't see another way of doing it.

I do feel a wee bit bunged up this morning and a wee bit headachy but not sure if that is connected or not.

So far so good though :)

You looking forward to getting started on your tabs tomorrow?

I was just looking some advice as I'm very new to all this! When you say downreging, what stage is this at? Also, after PTC what cycle day do things start happening?

Thanks ladiies

After your PTC you'll start on your next CD21. If you've had your period and are before CD 21 they will print out a schedule for you there and then. If you need to wait on your next period then they will post your schedule out to you after you ring and tell them your period has started, but they should talk you through the general idea of what you'll have to do at your PTC.
Downreging is the first part of the meds that you start o on day 21, this can be tablets, spray (or I think possibly injection but I've only had tablets and spray). This suppresses your natural cycle and then you start stimms which is your daily injections to grow multiple eggs.
Hope this helps you make sense of what we are talking about. It can be quite confusing xxx
