First scan

So was up there for first scan and I have a handful of folicies size 10mm each ovary. He said I responded quite well - clinic hope to be closed on Monday with marathon so not sure when next scan is as he said if too late my follicles could grow to big between now and the and I could loose some. Got bloods done so clinic will call me later regarding next scan. All in all very similar to last time whereby I was ok still for 12 days ... I imagine if all the same that my egg collection will be wed. He also said I had a big fibroid slap bam in the middle .... but that it was affecting affecting anything. These dam fibroids are a never ending thing of mine , but have to trust what they say. Good luck for anyone doing scan etc today xx

Princess it's been a difficult few years for you ,I can't imagine how 6 failed treatments would feel & a still birth . I've been trough 3 treatments with one positive but sadly ended in mc at 11wks. I know what you mean when you say you would rather have a negative than get so close to your dream only to have heart ache & pain. I had a low day yesterday but today I'm doing better. I'm focusing on the good in my life when I feel low, also I find upbeat music helps lift my mood . It's great to see positive stories on this forum, gives us all hope when we need it.. x

First one I had the full 1ml of saline with 3 vials of meds, today I only had 0.4!! Didn’t know what to do, counted how many vials I have and it’s only just enough, so instead of starting again I opened another saline and drew up to 1ml. Now really worried that it was diluted too much or something?

I have left a message for the clinic xx :o)

injection

Dusty

my 600 menopur had 1 bottle of powder and 1 saline solution which I injected the whole saline bottle in the powder and let it dissolve. I then used another syringe and withdrew my amount of 225 leaving the solution back in the cupboard until the next night.

my 1200 menopur had 1 bottle of powder and 2 saline solution which I injected the 2 saline bottle into the powder and let it dissolve. I then used another syringe and withdrew my amount of 225 leaving the solution back in the cupboard until the next night.

I know your really worried but don't stress too much if you have done it wrong as your only just starting and if you have missed a dose they can up your intake if needs be. I have posted a link on how to use menopur ..... direct links to each dosage :

Thanks so much Princess, I did it right the first night but goodness knows what happened yesterday.

Just spoke to a nurse at the clinic and she was really short with me :( Put the phone down and cryed which I feel rediculous about, I’ll blame it on the drugs!! She said I should have done it all again, and we’ll just have to wait at my next scan on Wednesday...xx

dont worry

Dusky

Don't worry its early on ... for flip sake she should not have been sharp... its hard to remember everything. I hate that. Do you think no one has ever forgot to take an injection? Trust me I am not a medic but I don't think one does will matter. Anyways if not much happening on first scan they will up the dose. Please don't worry about it. Ill be honest I have forgotten injections and just took it when I remembered and it didn't make a diff... don't get me wrong you wouldn't want to be doing it all the time but accidents do happen and mistakes be made.

I cant say the drugs affected me in any way and given this is my 6th go I am well use to them ... My problem is getting the embryo to implant!!!!

Chin up - move on from it and tackle the next injection like a pro xxx

Aww dusky, she really shouldn't have been so sharp with you! As princess said it's hard to remember everything exactly as you should and I'm sure your not the first person yo get something wrong. One dose out of them all is hardly likely to make that much of a difference. Don't worry about it, if they need to they will up the dose at you scan.
As for the mattress is there no way to fold it over and get it up the stairs? I've folded mattress in half before to get them in the car x

Sadly not, we have moved the stairs since our other one went up, it now has a twist in it, we did practice with our old one last week and with a folded corner and massive push it went, but obviously the new one is less malleable...May have to take the window out!! DH is leaving work early and has his window man coming over, DH is a builder, even the window is tight tho I reckon :S

2nd scan

hi ladies - feeling a bit Deflated today. Had my 2nd scan and doc said my follicles have slowed and that I will need to stay on Drugs 2 more days. I had hoped egg collection would be Wednesday but I am just back for another scan. I am really worried as only have about 5 follicles that will be the correct size if they grow over next 2 days. I do know that it’s quLuty and not quantity but I am worried tht if a small number is collected I won’t make it to transfer as in past we end up with very small number at transfer. Last time 14 collected and 2 transferred leaving none for freezing. I really do try to stay positive but I feel today that my journey is doomed as really worried I don’t have any Make it to day 5 transfer. Please everyone keep fingers crossed for me that all will be ok xxx

Hi girls

Aw princess that's disappointing but as dusky said you still have time and quality over quantity is much more important. Better to take the times to ensure everything is perfect before egg collection. It must be frustrating but I suppose they know best. Everything crossed for you xx
I had 2nd scan on Sunday and everything is good to for egg collection tomorrow morning. Follicles mearsing between 16-26mm..i think these are a good size? Took my trigger shot last night and I'm quite uncormfortble this morn. Anyone any tips for egg collection??
Hope everyone's keeping well xxx

Thanks

Hi ladies

Thanks for your comments. Auck I was a bit disappointed today doc were worried they would grow to quick now they seem to have stopped growing. I have a few at 16-17 but only 2 or 3. I know it’s not quantity but I am just worried as last time I got 14 but only 2 made it so I suppose I think if o start off with 3 or 4 then I may not have any for transfer. Doc rang me this afternoon though as was a bit confused today thinking I had been on injections for 13 days despite me telling him today was only day 10 so I am on the same dose until wed and all being well I will now have egg collection on Friday. Just hope I get some to transfer.
Today I just felt initially that I get one step forward and 3 steps back but I have moved on from it and look at it as what will be will be.

I have no tips for egg collection as I have never had any problems and generally found it an easy procedure for me. I worked before and after it or different occasions as I wasn’t sore etc

I wish you all the best for your egg collection- try to fret over it as they know what they are doing and hopefully it will be as easy on you as can be xxx

I'm doing ok with the injections, hopefulgirl. No real side effects so far and I've just had to increase my dose so may be something will start happening soon. Journey

ladies
Hope everyone is doing ok and hanging in there. I had my final scan there and have been told I will taking my trigger this evening with egg collection on Friday. The doc said I had a handful of eggs on each ovary so hopefully I get a few.

Hopefull girl I love your words about accepting things to be as they will be. This is very true-just keep believing and trust in the plan of life.

I really hope we al get what we want from here even if it’s not this time but that someday soon we get this.

I’ll keep you posted on Friday about how my collection went. Xx

Hey all I find these posts so helpful. I was just wondering, I am scheduled to start sprays on Monday. In your experience does the planned egg collection usually be accurate enough, I just want to consider booking time off work and don't want to have to change at last minute.
Thanks for your help. Fingers crossed for everyone xx

planned schedule

HI

My schedule didn't change .... planned meds for 12 days and egg collection 2 days later. it can vary slightly but usually only a few days. Egg transfer all being well is 3 days after or 5 days after if they make it that far. This is my 6th cycle and they have all been the same. My problem is that I Don't seem to get the best grade embryos to transfer (not AA Grades anyway) therefore my wee embryos don't wan to implant. But hopefully that will change.

With regards EC I am planned for Friday and will be working after the collection providing I can. Previous cycles I have had no issues.

to help with implantation- if I get to that stage I will also be eating pineapple and brazil nuts...... just in case it does actually help. To be honest the wee embryo will either implant or not based on the embryo and condition of the uterus, I think its all just down to nature itself but like you I will be trying all I can.

Try to worry to much about plans, just go with what happens at each stage and remember what will be will be. Try to stress and compare everything to what others say as we are all different and what works or doesn't work for someone could be the opposite to you.

Good luck as you start your journey.xx

Hopeful girl- this is great numbers...... I hope I do as well on Friday xx

That’s great Hopefulgirl :) Yes, I always did Brazil nuts and the core of pineapple, not the flesh. Try and rest up and reserve your energy, keep your uterus warm.

So much luck for Friday Princess.

Anniemc, I was on time with EC last time, think I will be delayed a few days this time though, waiting to hear back from clinic.

Had my second scan this morning, have 10 between 5mm and 13mm, the sonographer said it was all a bit lazy in there and I feel a bit flat about it...still have a scan on today but that may change x

That's how I felt after my scan too, Dusky. I hope things start happening for both of us soon. There's still time for it all to change xxx

Yeah, back in first thing on Friday for another scan. Had a few twinges today, nothing major, but hoping that something is now happening in there and there'll be some difference on Friday.

Thanks everyone :) . Everything crossed they all last to transfer day. It's so nerve racking isn't it. Princess I done ovtirelle in my stomach my clinic told me either or so I just stuck to what I knew as I done all my other injections in my stomach. Dusky and Janelle fingers crossed things progress a bit more for you both by Friday keep the faith girls as Janelle said there still time for change xxx

Hi girls

Hope everyone is good!

I'm currently in the tww after 3 day transfer last Friday. It is going so slow!

Quick question on the crinone gel. How long did you take this for? I started on day of egg collection and is due to finish on test day. Does this seem correct?

Fingers crossed for everyone at whatever stage you are at xx

Should have said- if you get a positive test on test day does it seem correct that the gels finish at that point?
Thanks x

Good luck Marie! Fingers crossed for your bfp! Sorry I can't help much with th3 crinone gel but I think that's what my schedule says too, egg collection to test day if that's any help. If you're unsure check with the clinic x
