Hi Annie I've Pmd you , my BMI was 38 as well and I've just gotten back from holiday after putting on 7 pounds lol . I started back at weight watchers tonight as I'm so scared of getting this far and then not getting treatment because I couldn't leave the cookie jar

SI_17 are you with doctor Tang?
Fingers crossed they get through more letters than they have been. I've rang a few times and get different answers every time. I'm currently doing iui and I'm about to start my 9th one. It's keeping me busy lol but I've had no success and would rather just get started on the ivf. I booked in for a few sessions of acupuncture today. Has anyone tried it?

Hi, I originally took seven seas but spoke to a nutritionist who told me I need omega 3, extra vitamin d and at least 400 folic acid (due to being a veggie and trying to conceive) so I swapped to the expensive Zita West ones. However, at my pre treatment appointment on Tuesday, was told to save my money and pregnacare original was more than sufficient. So I may change over at the end of this month when my current vitamins run out. I'd say start them before treatment just to get your body in the best shape possible, read somewhere 3 months prior to conception but that's hard to plan when you suffer fertility issues.

When I took folic acid and the seven seas pre conceptions, I did feel nauseous to begin with. I found taking them with food solved this. However, been better with the zita west vitamins but could just be down to taking it with food helps. So much conflicting info out there.

I've been taking mine for past few years since we started ttc, I never stopped they are full of goodness so I would just start now. Its meant to be best to start at least 3 months prior to conception.

My hubby has finally came around to the idea and is taking a multivitamin and maca root. We watched the show "babymakers" on tv3 about a month ago. It was about couples going through ivf. I think it helped him understand what the woman go through during treatment. Soon after he started taking his vitamins without being asked lol

Hi girls! I'm new to the forum but been checking in it's really helping! I rang today and they said it looks like it'll be 12 months instead of 9/10 months for everyone now! So disheartening was hoping to get our letter by the end of the month! The girl was lovely but said she couldn't really give any feedback as they are behind. She just said to keep phoning! I ?o( ?o(

Oh Martha we might be cycle buddies depending on your dates. Mines been postponed slightly due to Christmas so while I've already had my bloods and ptc, I won't start injections until 28th Dec. X

Hi Journey a-b then sounds amazing I'm hoping they will start me on day 21 which will fall a few days after the appointment on the 11th Dec going by my cycle being on the 24th November. I'm thinking they might wait to my period comes on the 22 Dec and count 21 days from then?

From my understanding Martha, I believe if it's similar to my schedule, you'd start on down reg (in my case a nasal spray) on day 21 of the current cycle. I was day three of my cycle at my ptc which is why I can't start anything until day 21 but looks like you're dates work out a little quicker so you might be able to start much sooner post your ptc on 11th Dec. Take the date of your last period with you to ptc and they'll print out the whole plan for you including the provisional dates for scans, EC, ET and even the pregnancy test. Best of luck, it's daunting, exciting, terrifying and a whole host of other emotions. X

I'm so nervous but excited at the same time . Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this all to me, I have searched high and low in the forums and just couldn't get my head round it , so thought I'd take the bull by the horns and just ask lol . Me you and journey might be testing around the same time ! Exciting stuff , I will keep you posted on how it all goes, I'm assuming the first appointment is literally just to give blood and weigh in?

Seriously I was exactly the same looking everywhere to get my head around the dates so please ask away. I had to call the morning after my PTC just to double check I had understood the dates correctly, felt like a right numpty but they were very kind and understanding. First appt is super quick, one blood test each, my weight, oh and they take your photo. I looked a right mess too! It took us longer to park the car than to attend the appointment. Second one took much longer, about two and a half hours. Good luck and keep in touch xx

The photo is apparently so you don't have to bring your ID to every appointment. They couldn't do my schedule at my ptc because I would have been due to start sprays this Friday, which would have meant egg collection Christmas week, so I have to ring with my next period and they will schedule me for day 21 of that one, so I don't have dates yet for injections, but I would have thought somewhere around very end of December. They said to start the spray this time they would have to keep me on it for too long. My next period is due around 25th November, never before have I been waiting so eagerly for a period!

After all the waiting I've a funny feeling this part will be quick. I've been so emtional imagine what I'm going to be like when I've all these extra hormones in me lol

I think it's variable, depending on when they plan to do egg collection, usually about two weeks I think for the spray on its own, and then start injections. My last time they kept me on the spray on its own an extra week though just for planning egg collection.

Martha1 I wouldn't be too sure. The fertility nurse gave me my own planner after she calclated my dates. Due to Christmas holidays she wasn't sure if it would all work out. I don' know if everyone starts injections the same time into the cycle. I start mine 33 days after starting the spray on day 21.

Hey Babycakes88, oh you are a day after me. Fingers crossed for the both of us.

Martha, on the RFC website, it says injections start approx 14 days into spray but with Christmas that may be pushed back or you might be lucky enough to not be affected just by the way your dates fall. Do let us know xx

My main worry at the minute is keeping this weight down and I just read this morning it's good to keep caffeine to a minimum.. I've been known to indulge in a wee redbull.. stressful job
