Teacup I was sent away after review app last Oct to try naturally for 6months as we were 'unexplained' but my advise is to refuse it. If I was able to go back and refuse it I would and I don't think there would have been an issue. I was very calm at appointment which maybe didn't work in my favour so let the consultant know how upset and frustrated you are.
I ovulate naturally so no clomid issued but if you have had your 21 day bloods done and all ok they might not think you need it. x

Thank you wannabeeeeee

I’m not sure that I will be able to hold back the tears in the review appointment whether it is good news or bad as I am quite an emotional person at the best of times lol. So I don’t think I’ll appear calm lol.

What did they tell you after they sent you away for 6 months? Just seems to be postponing the inevitable to suit themselves :S

Can you remember how long the review appointment lasts?

He just said they could find nothing wrong so maybe be best trying for 6months and if nothing happens to come back. I knew in my heart it would not happen so in the February called my gp for a referral so that I would have my app for April (6months)

Not sure how long it lasted but we chatted about different blood results I wanted to make sure I had every test possible lol. then signed the consent form and chatted to him about private options.

It has flown in now my other half is so laid back he has kept me sain, if it wasn't for him I would be in a very different state of mind. Good luck x

Thanks for info - I'm ICSI as well. I didn't even realise that cuts/Stormont stuff had affected waiting times until I found this site - found it tough discovering another barrier on this journey!

Does it take them a month to get through a month i.e. Nov letters = Feb sign / Dec = Mar / Jan = Apri / Feb = May / March = June ?

I think it all depends on how many people signed in a month, like last week they sent for 1st feb - 21st feb, i think they send for 10 people a week, what date did u sign

I only signed mid June this year. Wanted to sign in review appointment in Jan, but wasn't allowed -made to wait six months for next review appointment. Add that to relocating from England where we were about to go on Clomid (they misdiagnosed our problems in 2014) and it's feeling like an awfully long journey.

I was really hoping to be called in January, but that is defo not happening now - I guess what's 3 more months when you've been waiting 4 years!

Surely they will only be closed Christmas Day. Boxing Day and NY Day - I'm sure I read on another thread that someone asked them on phone if they shut any more than that and they said no.

Looks like everyone that calls gets a different answer - they should really have a better system e.g. an update on their website of what dates they are up too - they must get fed up answering all the phone calls!

Fingers crossed you all get letters soon x

I was informed the RFC itself is open over Christmas which is probably why people are able to get appointments but the technicians themselves are off for two weeks, that's why my scans, EC and ET dates have had to be pushed to start of January. I'm currently 6 days in on nasal spray (6 of 44 days which seems such a long time).

Hi Joys how are you feeling on the nasal spray? I'm hoping they will let me start on the 12th of Dec as this will be cycle day 21 but god knows lol. If I do start on the 12th how long to you think the usual time is to spend on the spray before injections just trying to calculate when EC will happen in January . The nurse was saying that once i start the nasal spray that my cycle will come as normal on the 23rd and then they are sure harmony levels are 0 ... I had thought the treatment stopped the cycle in preparation for eggs...awh clueless lol

I'm okay so far (fingers crossed) although started to get sore breasts and a bit emotional over a dog advert last night (haha) however I'm also due on in two days so could be my normal emotional state at this time of the month. I've been told I should come on as normal this month but I shouldn't come on next month as by then they will have manipulated my period... I have no idea how this works, I even called up to double check this as it's so confusing. I think usually people take the spray for two weeks before starting injections but you continue with the spray while injecting. I start injecting on Dec 28th with first scan 2nd Jan, I did wonder if this was the first day back for the technicians but I didn't ask. I bet you can't wait to get your timetable. Still seems so far away at the moment even though I know in the grand scheme it's not.

Yes it has everything on it even the pregnancy testing date although depending on actual egg collection & egg transfer date which can change at last minute, it's only provisional but still gives you a good idea of dates. It's exciting but still doesn't feel real. Think when I start to inject it will hit me. Keep in touch Martha x

Hi, im feeling very frustrated just off the phone again asking about the waiting list as i was referred on 28th feb, the girl took my details and rang back to say my husband will have to be referred for another semen analysis after already having 2 (last on in jan- reffered due to low count). I asked why was i not advised this last week when I rang? I asked if this is due to Dr williamson leaving? Could the appt for another test be made over the phone and was told no, we'd have to wait on the letter, I asked what date the waiting list is and was told feburary -no specific date. Has anyone got to top of list and had to wait for further tests before letter sent out?

Why does he have to have another SA? My other half had his last one in August 16 and results in Oct 16 and I assumed he would just have to give a sample at our App? you have me worried now as I am not to sure on the whole process?

At our first consultation my OH was sent for another SA too, and he had 2 previous ones done in craigavon, they said they had to have one done in the royal. So in total he has had 3, our review is on Thursday this week where we will get results and put on the list I hope, the first 2 he had was low count and motility so we know the issue, seems like they just want all the tests done in Belfast.

It was Dr McFall, need to double check that spelling ..... he explained the results of the SA and it says in writing on that form what treatment the lab recommend, so he just read that out and asked if we wanted to go ahead. I signed my names a few times and it was all over, in and out in less than 10 minutes.

I’m still clinging on to my hope of clomid lol. Not sure if it’s going to happen or not... Had you tried clomid before eg via local GP? Sorry for all the questions lol x

We need ICSI as my husband’s SA is low on all 3 factors, so it was that I was hoping for, I was hoping to be added to the list yes as it’s unlikeky to happen with his results, I don’t need Clomid, it’s only the male factors we need it for

Hi Ladies just had my big appointment for schedule etc in RFC we are getting ICSI treatment. Due to technicians taking time off over Christmas the only date available for egg collection was 31st January meaning I would have been on nasal spray for 51/2 weeks if I had started tomorrow. The nurse did give me a choice but recommended I leave it to my next period which is due on the 23rd December. I'm happy enough as it only delays the process by 2weeks and after all this time that's grand lol. She had printed out a schedule which was worked around me starting tomorrow which I've opted out off they will post me out another when the 23rd comes round.

Christmas really has confused the situation but I'm sure it's a much deserved break for them. That's good they gave you the option, I wasn't offered an alternative and am on the spray for 44 days in total, I think I would agree it's best to take it for a shorter time as I'm so tired and nasal spray plus period was hell. I was evil! Luckily only lasted for my period and I've calmed down now but still exhausted. Also means you can enjoy Christmas before the whirlwind. Thanks for keeping us in the loop xx
