Newbie. On waiting list for ICSI RFH Belfast!

Hi there, my name is Carli. Me and my husband have been ttc for almost 3yrs now. I was diagnosed with pcos last feb and hubs was told he had a very low sperm count in april last yr. After a lot of problems we made it onto the waiting list for ICSI at RFH Belfast. We signed on sept 2nd 2014 and now it's the waiting game. Would love to know more about what is involved, timescales, how long other couples have waited on the list. Also worried about my weight. I am 15st 8 and 5ft 8. Going to the gym 4 times a week and not shifting any weight. I still have treats but use my fitness pal to log calories and never go above 1850 kcals. It's very frustrating. Look forward to any advice anyone has on the process.

Hi carli- I have just completed a cycle of icsi at Rfc. My waiting time was 6-7 months to get to top of list, then about 2 months from then to complete cycle. Previous waiting times were longer but last financial year they got some extra funding to speed up lists, although it still felt long. So hopefully the budget will be kind to allow waiting times to remain at this or reduce more. Your bmi is below 35, so you meet their criteria but when I was on the waiting list I tried to use the time to get as healthy as possible. I found if you tried to focus on health rather than 'diet' - I found it easier to do. Although it can be frustrating not to see scales move- so I would try and ignore them. I had a really nice holiday during my wait so was counting down to holiday rather than just focussing on waiting time, plus gave me an extra boost to get in shape. Best of luck for the future.

Thank you so much for replying. I did the same, went on holidays in Jan there and it was lovely to have something to look forward to. Now i'm back it's baby gym baby lol hopefully won't be too much longer. I think you're right about the scales. I definately feel fitter and i'm running a lot further now. Scales are just a pain in the bum.
