Testosterone replacement therapy

Hey guys,

Been receiving testosterone replacement therapy for the last 10 months,
first a started on the gels and have recently moved on to nebido. I have just
received the results from my semen analysis and I have azoospermia, not a
single swimmer! i am now awaiting an appointment to see my consultant, given
that i already have a 3 year old with it not taking very long for him to be conceived,
there was no issue back then.

Has anyone else been in a similar position and what where the treatment
options available, i know there are a few options out there, would it be case specific
or is it a blanket treatment?

Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard.

Nebido is meant to be the better option but is more costly than the gels so some NHS areas won't prescribe it.

Stick around and hopefully others can help with their experiences.

Hiya,

My husband has been on t gels for 9 months now. It's for an underlying condition where he was azoospermic anyway but needed the hormone replacement. He moved from testogel to testim, much better for him, less sticky.

It depends why you are using the t gel in the first place I suppose. Testosterone replacement therapy inhibits sperm production, so this may explain your zero SA. My hubby has requested a biopsy ( for ongoing fertility treatment) and has been told he needs to be off his gels for 6 months. If it is the TRT causing the azoospermia then they may ask you to come off this and investigate your counts again and propose retrieval prior to starting the TRT again.

Hope this helps.
