protein shakes??

Hi,

I know nothing about protein shakes but have been recommended that these are a good way of making sure I get alot of protein for treatment.

Does anyone know which ones are any good, how many I should have daily and when I should start?

Thanks

Hi,
I'm using Solgar Whey to Go protein shakes. They've been recommended to me by a couple of girls who have had BFPs. I think they had a couple a day but so far I've only managed 1 as it's vile! I ordered the vanilla as I thought it would be most natural but apparently the chocolate is the nicest flavour. I've been putting honey in the vanilla one just to make it taste a bit better! Probably defeating the purpose of trying to reduce carbs! I only started them on Monday and started stims yesterday so have possibly left it a bit late but anything's worth a try!
Good luck, let me know what you go for!

I have used the Solgar too. I liked both vanilla and chocolate. I added skimmed milk to them rather than water.

Hi, I use maxitone definity, it's 119 calories per scoop and high protein. I put one scoop in the blender with 200mls of skimmed milk with blueberries, strawberries and with either flaxseed / organic flax oil... I have that in the morning for breakfast. I then have another scoop with 200mls water only late afternoon or at night before bed as a snack.. At weekends I won't have shakes at all.. I'll have eggs (scrambled eggs/omelette with 1 egg and 2 extra egg whites to get more protein).. Also lentils are good for protein.. Good luck! :)

I've found a super protein smoothie recipe which contains avocado, Brazil nuts a banana and some milk with honey to.sweeten it up sounds a bit gross but actually quite nice.

Good luck with your next cycle xxx

Thanks jaybee, I will take a look

Macksie,

I am already doing that. I read an article in the daily mail that avocado triples ur chances with IVF but I cant stand avocado so I put it in a smoothie with lots of fruit.
im going to add spinach with it too as that us also good for people having treatment.

If I am brave enough, I will try ur recipe.

Thanks
