Standard Dose for Progynova ??

Hi
Just started Medicated FET today (day 3 today) - been put on 6mg a day (3 tablets)
Is that average?

Did everyone experience side effects from this drug?
I've been told to take all 3 tablets at once - seems strange not to spread it out throughout the day. What's everyone else doing?

Thanks - any advice appreciated x

hi hun im on 12 a day but that happened by accident.. i was meant to be on 6mg but misinterpretted and took six tablets. No massive problem though as everything was as it should be and clinic kept me on the dosage id been taking by mistake... They did say however that most women are on 6mg... so think you are on about right.
hope this helps xxx

I started on 6mg last cycle increasing to 8 which was 5 tablets a day and my clinic advised to spread them out over the day so i used to take 2 in the morning one at lunch and then two with tea after food meant it wasn't hitting an empty tummy and side affects weren't as bad. I did get a bit of nausea here and there but it wasn't too bad and soon passed.

This cycle I'm on double dose and two patches so dreading it lol.

Drink plenty of water and eat plenty of iron rich foods that all helps to flush the chemicals through your system and build a nice lining.

Good luck xxx

Just wanted to add that on my 3rd FET I was on 4 tablets a day, spaced out, plus 2 patches every 3 days. I was very lucky and had no side effects at all, so Macksie hopefully you won't either from the patches. My top tip for them is put them on your butt cheeks - much less painful to take them off again!!

Ah thanks hun that sounds the same as what they've told me to do this time last time i was ok until the last couple of days of the TWW but that was probably more the TWW driving me insane rather than the drugs.

FET progynova doses

Just wondering how long you all took hrt for before transfer on your FET cycles. On previous cycles I have taken it for a good fortnight before my lining scan and then another 5 days before transfer but this time round I will only be on it for 10 days before my lining scan.

Also I start on 2mg slowly increasing to 6mg and i wonder how that compares to everyone else.

Hi, I think I was on 8 mg from day 1 plus two hrt patches! But that was due to lining not thickening on two prior cycles. I think I took it from the day of my scan so about a week prior to ET then continued until 12 weeks pg. I stopped the patches after ET.

Hi CT,

I'm like you the first 5 days I'm on 2 mg then day 5 increases to 4mg for another 5 days then increase to 6mg for another 10 days so I am on them so days in total - it is strange how we all differ, I want to know why we need to take more if it works with less drugs...

I am sure they wouldn't risk your cycle, I think it's more the fact other need to take more drugs so the clinics have longer to fit in with there clinics - which is frustrating as were on the drugs longer. Bummer - are you going to check with your clinic for piece of mind? Xxx

Forgot to ask when you increase your dose of HRT are you taking one in the morning and one at night or both together? My clinic never said, and I increased yesterday but took them both together? Does it really matter?

Thanks C xxx

Hi curly tails/cheree - I took 6mg (3 tablets) a day from day 1 of period (scan day 11/12), 1st FET I took them all before bed (nurse said that was fine) but had a really upset stomach which they blamed on progesterone pessaries. Spaced tablets out breakfast, mid afternoon and bed this FET and had no problems despite same dose of cyclogest. Good luck x
