Can you do FET back to back?

Just had a BFN on a natural FET.
Got follow up appointment on Monday, will they let me do anything FET straight away in Feb?

I'm assuming yes cos it was a natural cycle anyway.
Any experience anyone??

I'm going to try a medicated cycle next time.

I am sorry for your BFN. I had 3 medicated FETs back to back, they wanted me to have one period inbetween each cycle and I was on a long protocol so the whole thing was nearly 3 months inbetween each. Wishing you so much luck for your next cycle xxx

Hi Lisa

I cant see why not as it was a natural fet, some recommend you do wait for a normal period in between but its up to your own frame of mind as well and whether you are ready.

Good luck xx

I did two with a period in between that didn't work as my lining didn't thicken. I then had a hysteroscopy to see if anything was wrong but then decided to give my body a break for a few months afterwards. I have no idea whether the break helped or not but it was 3rd time lucky and lining thickened. Because it was a natural FET (mine were all medicated) you'll probably be fine. Good luck for next time. x

Hi everyone!

I also had a bfn on 31st Jan, first ivf. The nurse said I have to wait for 3 periods, that's like 3 months. Now that I've read this, I'm going to ask them to let me start earlier then. I have appt with Dr on Wed.

Lisa, is it you fom JJ? Thanks for the topic.

Thanks to you all!

Hi Mummytwins, each clinic is different and a fresh IVF cycle and a FET cycle are very different so my clinic said 3 periods between a fresh cycle. As Lisal did a natural FET (i.e. with no medication) that's probably why her clinic are OK with her doing back to back. Your body will need some time to 'recover' from the IVF cycle. I'm really sorry about your BFN. xxx

Ohoo!!! Thanks a bunch Net. I didn't understand there's a difference. This is why I so much like it here, you learn everyday. Thank you once again for the explanation. So three periods it will be then for me, it's such a long wait!!!
