Happy New Year Ladies! newyear4

Well I am 4 days to OTD... AF was due on Thursday and has stayed away. That is always a good sign. Had a few other signs so we are cautiously optomistic. I had dinner with a group of great ladies last night and I was very glad no one asked questions when I just stuck to water and did not indulge in a bit of alcohol along with the others :wine: . I have to admit it would be a fabulous start to a new year!

It's great to hear from you Scarlett and Hopefully Soon. I glad some familiars still stick with us. I hope this thread picks up more this year!

Well I will check in again soon. Hopefully with good news! [zx017]

Well Rene I am sorry to say that AF showed up today. :-( We are a bit disappointed but we knew there was a possibility that this would happen. I call the RE tomorrow to discuss another round. We may have to put it off for a month because DH had some pretty bad kidney stones and his perscriptions are having some undesired side effects. Hopefully my RE can give me some insight.

Hi Rene,

I am getting on ok. We did do another cycle in Jan and that turn out BFN. So my RE wants to do IVF. My DH and I had reservations about it and we went together and had an IVF consultation with the RE and we have decided to give it a try. The cost is mostly covered by me insurance which is very nice, but we still have to pay 20% of the procedure and that is still pretty expensive. This may be our last oppertunity since it is so much aout of pocket at one time and I will be 41 in a few months.. I am not a huge egg producer so we can only hope for a decent egg collection. I think it will be April before we get started on stimms. I will be popping in to check on everyone from time to time. I want to thank you for all your support. It has been quite helpful!

Hi, Marcie
I am sorry that your IUI journey have not been successful. Hopefully your IVF treatment will result in that elusive sticky BFP and I will certainly continue to watch your journey to parenthood...
Wishing you all the best!!!

Hi, Primavera, and welcome to FZ and IUI chat.
As you can see, this is a fairly quiet area, but I am sure that some of our ladies will be along shortly to say Hi and help with questions you may have.
I have no experienct of GRI myself as I am not in the UK/Scotland, but in South Africa where the process is very different.
You may like to have a read through this thread: Glasgow Royal Infirmary - Treatment feedback and chat **NO PREGNANCY CHAT PLEASE**
where there is general discussion and feedback on treatment at GRI...

Hi, Nicola
Welcome to FZ. I hope that you will be happy here with us.

Unfortunately I do not know what the waiting times are at your clinic and this varies from place to place. Have you tried this area?
http://www.fertilityzone.co.uk/index.php…rd&boardID=174&

In this area ladies discuss various clinics and may give some feedback on the waiting times in your area...

Good luck, Hun

IUI

Hi
My husband and I have made an appointment to go in to see the doctor about treatment! I'm excited but I know we've probably got a long wait ahead of us... I think we'll be needing IUI as the reason we need treatment is that he has retrograde ejaculation, so his sperm goes into his bladder. He had cancer and when they operated to remove a lymph node, they cut a nerve and this is the side effect. He banked sperm before the op tho, so that's why I think IUI is what we'll end up doing. He's 31 now and I'm 29.
Just wondered if anyone can tell me the process, once we've been to see the GP what happens next?
Thanks so much
C xxx :)

Hi, Ladies - sorry that I have been AWOL.
Ginger: it is really quiet in this part of the forum as you can no doubt see. I think that the majority of the ladies have moved to the IVF area.

Clairly: your GP will have to refer you to the local assisted reproduction centre. Waiting times to see the doctors there varies and you may want to phone up the nearest centres to get an idea of waiting times - especially if you are looking to have treatment on the NHS.
He may also schedule some preliminary tests for you while you are waiting. Once at the clinic they may also need to have some tests done as, even though all seems well with you, they may need to confirm that you are ovulating and that your tubes are clear before they can proceed to IUI.
Keep in mind that, depending on the sperm analysis of your husbands banked sperm and the results of any tests they do on you, they may still offer IVF rather than IUI.

Good luck, ladies...
