Should I take clomid?

Hi. I'm 43 ttc 4 years. Had bloodtest July and was not ovulating. Had another September and was ovulating. Asked dr about clomid and was told can't take it as was ovulating. Doing ovulation test sticks this month, on day 15 of a 27-28 day cycle and def not ovulatied over last 3 days. Tried the cm test but have never found ewcm.
Not sure what to do. At 43 can't wait much longer! Do I go bac to dr and beg for clomid? Or will that not work if I ovulated last month?
Very confused. Any opinions would be great :-)

Hiya,

Clomid needs to be monitored, usually by a consultant with scans and blood tests. If you are already ovulating then clomid may overstimmulate you.

It is normal not to ovulate every cycle.

I would go back to the doctors and get some other blood tests done to find out what is going on.

Thanks for your reply! Will get back to dr soon. Feel like they are just not interested though!

No problem!

If you have been ttc for 4 years you should be able to get reffered to a fertility expert or gynae for more tests too. A lap and dye and a load of other blood tests.

If your doctor isn't interested, I'd consider changing your GP. As Flic says, if you've been ttc for 4 years, you should be referred for further tests to find out what's going on, not just ignored!

Good luck!
