That's so rude pip some people ggrrrr!!!
We went out for dinner a couple of weeks ago Z was being a bit over excited playing with his cousins and this couple over the other side of the room were throwing daggers our way!!!
They are children they are going to make noise, they have just as much right to be there as everyone else!!!

Colds still doing the rounds here, I'm sure F has spent half of his life poorly :( need to ring up about his injections today as still haven't had an appointment through as they wouldn't do it as he was poorly it's been nearly 2 weeks now!!!

Hope everyone is well?
I was laying up worrying last night, stressing about work!! I really don't want to go back to my night job was just going through the pros and cons, I know I have a few months to decide but it's really stressing me out :(

Pip yes people can be so rude. We had similar experience in a restaurant a few years ago when two fellas beside us we're giving off about babies in the restaurant and it was only lunchtime. I can understand in an expensive restaurant that kids might not be hat welcome. It's strange though because frequently I find the opposite and we have people coming up and talking to us to say it's great and how wonderful to see kids out and eating up well.

I once even had an old bat on a plane give off about our twins making noise on a plane when they were 13 months old and she hadn't realised she was mine as you can't sit with two babies in the one row. She even sat with her fingers in her ears and she really wasn't bad other than take off and landing. She nearly had a fit when I gave off to her about criticising my baby. I try to feel sorry for people like that who are such misery guts but that's only cause I'd want to bite their heads off otherwise :snigger:

Cheneab I really do feel your pain. Is there anyway you could afford to stop your night shift? What is it about the nights that are stressing you?

Hope everyone else is good xx

People really r so rude on a plane what does she expect u to do! I know it was middle of the afternoon I can see the point if it was 8 at night in a nice place but it was a wee pizza pasta place with a play area Jeezo.

When r u due back Chenab? Is it 2 different jobs or shifts?

I've been looking forward to going back but a bit nervous about leaving the girls especially as they r getting older they seem to b more attached to me and are allot more active so I don't want to miss them doing anything new. I know I will b ok once I get used to it

How is ur new nanny going heather?

People can be so rude! I hope you enjoyed your lunch anyway pip and didn't take any notice of them. They were probably just jealous of your beautiful girls! We also went out for lunch yesterday. I sat R in a high hair and he had great fun watching everyone and throwing his toys onto the floor!

Cheenab when are you due back to work? Do you have 2 jobs? I can understand why you don't want to go back to the night shift with 2 little ones to look after. Would you be able to quit it?

I had the night from hell last night. R went to bed at 8.30 and there wasn't a sound from him until 11.30 when he woke up screaming and crying. I wasn't able to settle him again until 2am and then just as I was falling asleep he started screaming again. I eventually got him back to sleep at 4am so I am absolutely shattered today. I can't work out what was wrong with him. When I laid him down he was arching his back and sobbing and he was quite windy when I lifted him so I'm thinking it must be tummy pains or something. This happens quite often but not usually as bad and I really don't know what is causing it. For the past few days his eczema has been really bad too and he's also come out in a rash across the back of his neck and down his back. I'm convinced he must be allergic to something but don't know what. I've changed my washing powder but made no difference so am wondering if its something he's eating. I'm feeling so stressed out and worried about him and can't get a doctors appointment until tomorrow. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

It's quite possible he's allergic to some food. The only way to know for sure is to cut out all he was eating yesterday and every 2 weeks reintroduce a food type and see how he reacts. If you know he's had some of the food types before with no reaction it's prob safe to say he's ok on that. Is a slow process but that's why I know H is allergic to apples and strawberries. I haven't tried him with other more acidic fruit like oranges/raspberries as there's a good chance he's allergic to them too.

Could also just be some food produce more gas esp if he was arching his back etc then wind is likely to be an issue. You know yourself sometimes wind can be so painful.

No one really tells you what motherhood is like but there are stressful times but just go with your gut when they are off form. It does get easier the illness bit as they get older and can tell you when they've a sore throat etc!!

Pip our nanny is going ok. Kids really seem to like her which is massively important but she a bit lacking in get up and go for my liking!! We really do need someone to live in as I was on call all weekend and my hubby was working nights. I was able to deal with everything on the phone but at some point I'll have to go into work and then I'm stuck!!

Aw ashstar that's tough, it could b upset tummy, allergy or a wee virus, I would put more of his skin cream in, just feed bland foods today and give calpol at bed time, cover all ur bases and see what the Dr says 2moro it's tough because they can't tell u what's wrong. Hope he is better today.

That is hard heather with the nature of ur jobs would ur nanny come at short notice at night like that, or not really?
I don't know if it was here or ur diary I read it, but well done H on his sitting up that's great!

Thanks ladies. It's just so stressful not knowing what's causing it. I'm convinced it's something he's eating so will try elimating things and hopefully I'll work it out. He ate 2 wee yogurts not long before bed so wondering if it could have been that. He eats yogurts all the time though and is usually fine. I'll not give him any today. He's been fine all day although a bit grumpy from lack of sleep - as am I lol! The rash is still bad on his neck and he has wee patches of eczema all over him whereas before it was just on his face. Poor wee man. I feel so helpless and it makes me feel even worse to think that it could be something I'm giving him that's causing it. Things were so much simpler when all he got was milk!

Aw ashstar don't feel bad, u r doing the best for him by offering all different types of foods, if it is an allergy hopefully u can get to the bottom of it by doing as heather suggested.
Amelia is allergic to all things Johnson and Johnson so even baby wipes make her skin flare up, have u changed wipes maybe? I was just buying whatever was on offer and then realised that

Thanks pip. I haven't changed my wipes but will keep that in mind if I do. He seems to have such sensitive wee skin it's hard to know what might set it off. He's been sleeping for the past 2 hours and I don't normally let him nap past this time but reckon he needs it today after being up all night. I just hope tonight is better!

Wow busy on here!

Ashatar sorry that your little man is unsettled just now. Skin allergies can just start suddenly so it could be washing powder etc. Hopefully you'll get to the bottom of it soon and hope he sleeps better tonight.

Pip I got the same treatment once, we were in a pub when DD1 was about 9 months, there was us and about ten friends no other kids - our friends were loud believe me as we were out for a Xmas lunch with lots of booze! The people in table next to us saw DD and demanded to be move as they didn't want noise - the pub said no as there were no spare tables. I laughed as at the end of their meal I heard them say ' ooh that baby was quiet but the rest of the table werent'! How rude!

Cheenab sorry you're stressing out - could you manage without the night job?

Heather glad the nanny is working out but hope you get a live in one sorted.

We're doing ok here - it's DD1's 3rd birthday on Wednesday, then mine on Thursday so a nice week planned and our colds are finally going! Then Friday we take DD1 to great ormond street hospital for final consultation about a birth mark she has on her lip ( those of you in Facebook you've probably seen it on photos). We find out when her surgery might be scheduled in - am dreading it but she really needs it doing now as her lip hurts her which isn't nice to see. So a big week.

DD2 still waking twice at night, about 1am and 4am every night. Am so tired!

Hi everyone else hope everyone is well xx

Oh happy u have a lovely birthday week for u and ur girl net.
My friends LO has a similar birth mark on his forehead which he is also having removed this year, they wanted to leave it to see if it shrank on its own first.

How was R last night ashstar? What did the doc say?

What a night and morning teething will b the end of us, girls r taking turns to b hysterical, at least in turns I can deal with each baby but they r now not sleeping at the same time which is exhausting I am still in pj's no help today either as my mum has my niece and nephew and MIL on holiday, DH is away overnight again

Wow it has been busy on here!!!!

I cannot believe the rudeness of some people!!!!! There are places that do not allow children so if they do not like it then go there.....

Ashatar how is your LO now?

Net I am so sorry your LO is still waking - but does sound like a nice week planned.

Pip teething is horrid isn't it bless you - a day in your PJ's doesn't sound too bad though - hope you manage to get some sleep.

Not much to report here really. D had his 2nd lot of jabs yesterday he was fast asleep then 2 nurses injected him 1 in each leg and that certainly woke him had a few tears a cuddle and back to sleep - the nurses actually said he was the most chilled out baby they had had all day lol! Touch wood have had no problems since - he is still sleeping through the night waking up between 5.30 & 6.30 but I can generally get him to go back to sleep until at least 7 so that is good!!! He is enjoying his door bouncer and is chewing on his hand and dribbling a lot and in the last week he is a little sick after his milk but I believe it is all teething related - long may it continue. Time seems to be going so quick now I have confirmed my return to work at the beginning of May!

Sorry if I have missed anyone - but Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope all is well!

Hi all,

Hope L has a fantastic birthday net, and you of course :) her cake looks fab!!!

Aww pip, poor little ladies!! Teething is definitely no fun, really feel for you having it twice over!! But nothing wrong with a pj day rotf

Teething seems to have really set in here too, horrid isn't it!! I don't ever remember Z being this bad. F's sleeping is terrible at the moment, he's having his last feed about 11, then wakes around 3am, I've been trying a dummy first before milk but he spits it out, then last night tried cooled water first and the little piggy drank 3oz of that then kept crying for milk so he ended up having 5oz of milk too!! I didn't get back to sleep till about 5 then him and Z were both up at 7 zzzzzzzz shattered today!!!

Still haven't decided what to do about work, I have 2 jobs both part time one in the afternoon then this dreaded night one my main one is the afternoon one, pay covers all my share of the bills etc but I've always had a second job for 'play' money never accounted for so I could do without the money, well already am as wasn't entitled to maternity pay with them!! It's just always nice to have that little bit extra, so I can spoil the boys take them places etc and not have to worry about not having enough. It's just really stressing me out, as I don't have to return till September and Z will be starting school then so will be stressing trying to rush home to get him sorted and having to have my mum or someone to pop round for a bit as dp leaves at 7.30am and I wouldn't finish work till 8am then travelling home, then also worrying about how dp will cope over night with both of them, he does seem to get stressed easily when having to watch them both!!!
So much to think about!!!! ;) need someone to tell me what to do haha!! Everyone just keeps saying do what you thinks right, but I have no clue!!!

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Hi all,

Pip, I hope you are having a better day today. That's really hard work on your own. Is your DH back today? There's been many days when I'm still in my pjs at lunchtime. Always dread someone calling at the door!

Cheenab, how is the teething going?

Net hope L is enjoying her birthday. Her cake looked fab! Wish my DH would do some baking! You and i are birthday twins. My birthday is tomorrow too.

I took R to the docs yesterday but got nowhere. Waited an hour and a half to see him and then was pretty much in and out within 5 minutes and am none the wiser. He barely glanced at him. Just looked down the back of his vest at the rash and didn't even look at his legs. Told me he thinks it's just eczema flaring up but didn't seem to understand that I need to know what is causing it! Told me to keep putting the cream on him for another 5 days and then come back. I've tried eliminating a few things from his diet but he is no better and is so grumpy. I just don't know what to do.

Net happy third birthday to L and for you tomorrow. Glad all the colds are on the mend.

Pip hope today is going better for you.

Ashatar sorry the doc wasn't much use. I have H at a specialist dermatologist and yes there is useful advice re creaming regime and bathing etc but they do not know what causes eczema. Flare ups can be caused by other illness, teething, too cold weather, too hot weather and then things they are allergic too. Unless he's really bad they won't refer him to a dermatologist. If it's some comfort most babies grow totally out of it by the time they reach 1. Can be worth trying different creams as some work better than others.

Cheenab is there any way you could do a few more hours with your afternoon job to give you some extra money. I do know what you mean about your hubby coping. My DH is very good with the kids and loves it but he does get more stressed than me when looking after them.

Hope everyone is good xx

Thanks heather. He's absolutely covered in it from head to toe. It was just on his cheeks before and was well controlled with the creams but last week it started to spread all over his back, front and arms and legs. The poor wee man is going crazy scratching and his face is all cut to shreds. The creams aren't helping at all anymore and I feel so helpless. I'm convinced it's an allergy. I had started to give him one bottle of stage one formula going to bed instead of the preterm formula so I'm wondering if that could be the cause. Have stopped giving him it and have also stopped his weetabix and yogurts. Once it clears up I'll try introducing these again one at a time and hopefully I'll figure it out!

Do you know do you have to be referred to a dermatologist by the GP or can you go private? We see a dietician at the hospital although next appointment isn't for 6 weeks. I'm wondering would it be worth trying to ring her for advice.

Normal process is for referral from your GP but you can go privately just like any other private appt. Have you got any steroid creams for him because they are fab at settling down a flare up and are safe to use for a couple of weeks and then twice a week as a maintenance dose. Dairy is a common allergy when they are little. My DSD was plagued with eczema for years and is still bothered but is so much better than she was. It is hard as there is very little you can do to help. I think I've said before but the bath addictive has been stressed a couple of times to me about how important it is to do every night and then cream immediately and in to pjs.

Yeah I have a steroid cream which I'm using twice a day plus another moisturiser. I've also got a bath emollient which I'm using every night. Hopefully after a few days I'll start to see some improvement otherwise I think I'll have to look at a private appointment. Thanks for all your help. Hi ashstar, I know every area is different but my health visitor team holds a dermatology clinic once a month I've got Amelia a referral through her, I just phoned her and she came and had a look. Might b worth trying that avenue. Sounds such a shame for him, hoping he gets some relief.

Today has been s better day, managed to get dressed in the morning which Kent we got a walk to the shops in the afternoon some fresh air makes a wee difference. DH will b home in an hour or so, so he can take over.

Happy birthday to DD1 net

Thanks pip. I'm not sure if there's anything like that here but if it doesn't clear up in a few days I will definitely phone the health visitor and ask. He had a good nap this afternoon and when he woke up my niece was here who he absolutely loves so that cheered him up a good bit!

Glad you have had a better day. It definitely helps to get out even just for a wee walk. I've started trying to walk as much as possible instead of driving as R hates the car seat and goes mad now if I try to put him in it.

Hope everyone else is good xx

Oh Ashatar sorry R's skin is so awful. You've some great advice on here so hope that things improve soon. And happy birthday for tomorrow birthday twin!!

dD has had a fab day but is so wired she's still awake now and DH is reading to her just now. We took her to this reptile house near us that she loves then had all the family over for sandwiches and cake - my DH made an amazing mermaid cake ( well I made the sponge and he decorated it!) I was rather impressed by his artistic skills!

Pip hope DH has taken over and let you have some time off. I don't know how you cope - my DH works from home so I always have help if I need it. I'm incredibly lucky.

Heather how is H's skin now?

Wardie that's fab that Ds is sleeping so well
E is still up twice a night - exhausting!

When we had the twins at first the house we had backed into a forest path so we had a pram that could cope with rough tracks and mud and it was fab to open back door and go for a long walk. Definitely don't do as much walking once L came along and now H as L can't go for an hours walk without at some point deciding she too tired and needs carried!! I've always put pram away once they get to about 18months and are properly steady on their feet as I hate seeing older kids in buggies. I do know it makes life easier and quicker but kids don't get enough exercise these days so hoping to encourage mine to always be active. Sorry rant over!!!

Ashatar how's your wee man today? Is it your birthday today too? If so have a great one.

Happy birthday Net. Hope you're getting well pampered.

Wardie sounds like things are ticking along nicely in your house : D

H's skin is pretty good at the mo apart from his cheeks, back of his head and ankles. Much improved so that's great and hopefully it'll last.
We went to mortgage advisor this morning as our 2 year fixed rate is due up in a couple of months and because have have obviously been paying off we are able to get a better deal which means we can reduce our mortgage term by 7 years but roughly same monthly payment!! Really pleased as that's fantastic : D Means our dream of buying a place in Florida are a step closer!!

Happy birthday net and ashstar!

Heather that's great news this morning oh a place in Florida would b amazing!

Looking for opinions on bedtime ladies, as it stands girls get a bottle about 7ish and then stay up playing till 8.30 9 when they go to sleep in travel cot in the living room, then at 10.30 they get a bottle and I put them up to their cots, they go into their cots really well even if awake will just lie down and go to sleep, whereas at 9ish they can need rocked to sleep. They r starting to grow out of the travel cot, sharing it, I can't fit 2 downstairs. So I want to start putting them up at 9 when they go to sleep but I don't want to mess up the bedtime routine by rocking them to sleep for their cot, and then they will b confused that they haven't had their bottle yet etc and are in bed for the night. Just now after last feed once they r in cots they don't get up till the morning so I'm just scared of messing it up.

What do u ladies think?
xx

Hi pip,

Could you try cutting out the bottle at 7pm or maybe giving them less so that they are ready for the bedtime bottle at 9? Maybe just try bringing all the feeds during the day forward slightly or offer some puréed food instead at 7?

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies!

R's skin isn't any better but he's in really good form so I'm hoping that the itch has gone out of it and maybe it will start to clear a bit now. I'm struggling to know what to give him to eat though as I've cut all his favourites from his diet in the hope I'll figure out what he's allergic too. He's not really onto finger foods yet as last time I offered them he just got frustrated. Will maybe try again at the weekend. I took him to Jo jingles this morning and he sat on the floor by himself for a few seconds! It won't be long until he can sit up properly. He is 8 months old today!

Oh it's been so busy I can't keep up!!!

I agree about buggies Heather. At school pick up I see children that start school in Sept that are in buggies!!

J has a rrally bad cold, cough and sticky eyes. I've just wood his eyes with cotton wool soaked in breast milk, hopefully its not an old wivs tale and it clears it up. Considering how I'll he is we are making progress on sleep. On average he sleeps 9-2 in crib and from then in our bed but nxt to me instead of on top of me ! I one point I thought he would be sleeping on me forever. Looking bk I don't know how I got through it!

Off to our last baby massage session today. I really enjoy it but I'd hoped to meet other mums there but the other 3 girls already know each other so although they are polite they doNT seem bothered about making new friends. I've got lots of mummy friendd, would just be nice to have some with babies the same age, especially as DD is off to school in September

Sorry for lack of personals again! :)

Hi Jasper great to hear from you and you're making progress on the sleeping front : D

Pip if possible at the 7 o clock bottle either try to stretch it slightly later or give a fruit pot at the 7 o clock bottle time and then just put them to bed upstairs. You maybe surprised if you hold out a little longer or give them more food that you can drop the 10.30 bottle. H gets a bottle about 6.30-7pm ish and that's him until 7am. I let him lie on one of our sofas with his bunny and a blanket sort of positioned in the corner and he happily sleeps there until I go to bed. I can get him lifted asleep and then into his crib. With dropping the nighttime bottle it can mean they will wake a little earlier in the morning for a few days until they get used to not having. Or you could simply cluster feed a bit give them normal bottle at 7pm, keep them up until 9pm give another few ounces then down for the night upstairs. So many options!!

Xx

Have I read that some of your little ones are teething? Net&Cheenab? I have noticed the 2 bottom teeth bulging through gums this morning but they haven't broken through yet. He has been chewing on muslin cloths and blankets but not really toys as he hasn't quite got the hand control yet. Going in to town later so I'll grab some teething powders as I remember these being good in the past.
Have a good weekend everyone x

We definitely have a teether also!! Fists, bib, blanket, my hands all straight in his mouth!!!
His bottom gums are really bulging, but up the top feels so sharp!! I got some Ashton and parsons powder, it's upset his tummy a bit so just giving it a couple of days see if it settles down or will have to try something else :) xx

Hi ladies

Hope you are all well!

We definitely have a teething baby too he puts everything in his mouth and constantly dribbling!!!!! But does not appear to be causing him too much pain yet! The powders work a treat for us if he is in discomfort!

I have a question though he does not stop eating/drinking literally is feeding whenever he is not sleeping and has caused him to start waking in the night once I haven't been giving him a bottle as I manage to get him back to sleep for a couple of hours! Is he too early to start trying to introduce purée? He is 14 weeks tomorrow and I know the HV told me 6 months but he is costing me a fortune in formula lol! Any thoughts or suggestions? Or should I up his formula intake from 6oz to 7?

Thanks girls! Sorry for no personals got to get L down for her nap! xxxx

Hi everyone,

Teething baby here too but still no teeth! I feel like I can feel every tooth under the gums but so far none have popped through.

Wardie, I would try increasing his formula to see if it makes a difference or maybe try switching to the hungry baby formula? I started weaning at 17 weeks on the advice of the pediatrician so maybe better to wait another couple of weeks.

We are still having a terrible time with R's skin. Was back at the doctor this morning as there has been no improvement at all and I can't use the steroid cream on him any longer. He gave us a different moisturiser to try and has referred him to the allergy clinic. I just hope we don't have a long wait for an appointment. The poor wee man is covered from head to toe in eczema and it's really red and sore looking.

How is everyone else getting on? Xx

I'd try upping an extra ounce wardie, we plan on giving F little tastes from about 4 months if he's interested, I waited till 6 months with Z and he's a terrible with eating always has been so I'm thinking little tastes here and there isn't going to do F any harm!!! ;)
We are still only on 5oz, before getting poorly he was such a greedy monkey now he's just not interested!! His sleeping is getting better now though, the past 4 nights he's only woke on one of those, and that was dp's night so I'm not complaining!! ;)
Net, jasper, wardie, all ours are about the same age- what do you do with them to keep them awake? I feel like F is constantly sleeping, he isn't really grabbing out at toys yet!! He likes to sit in his chair having a natter with the lights, but I feel he gets ignored just sitting there!! We have Z's bumbo and jumperoo but thinking he's too young for them yet!! Just need ideas to keep him entertained, it was easier with just Z as no one else around needing attention too!!! Me and Z play peek a boo a lot with F, but Z gets bored easily with that ;)
Any ideas??!! ;)

Cheenab defo going to up his milk although he is so greedy I think he will still want more lol!!!!!

D doesn't really sleep all that much in the day he just has cat naps! But he likes to be in the door bouncer or his Jumperoo he doesn't like laying down all that much nowadays he wants to see all that is going on so I bought a Mamas and Papas baby snug with activity tray which is basically a different version of the bumbo and he loves it! Sit him in that and he sits in it while I'm cooking or whatever and he loves it! Failing that he loves his activity mat too and likes grabbing the toys etc! It can be hard though as he doesn't like being ignored lol!!!! Xx

What age is he now wardie?
The girls have those same wee seats they love them, was thinking about a door bouncer too, r they good?

Aw ashstar sorry to hear R's skin still notgood hopefully u don't have to wait too long for an appointment.

We went out for a meal on sat night my mum and dad were babysitting we had to come home Olivia just wouldn't settle. By the time we got here she was sobbing so hard she had made herself sick poor soul. She does have the cold but she seems to b getting herself really worked up whenever she is tired or hungry. Had a good scream today too b4 her milk, then she only drinks about half of it.

They have an appointment at hospital on Friday with the pedeatrician who follows them up because of prematurity so I'm looking forward to finding out if they r doing ok. They don't sit up on their own yet and only Amelia rolls, Olivia just shouts for u to move her when she gets bored

Hope all the teething babies r doing ok, we r on Ashton and parsons and bongela whatever works worth a try

Nice and busy ladies! I think we are single handedly keeping this site busy! So quiet compared to a few years ago!

Ashatar sorry R is still so itchy that must be so hard. Hope the allergy clinic can help

Wardie my HV said 17 weeks as a munimum. I'm planning on starting E at about 19/20 weeks. If she's showing signs of hunger I'll start her earlier. I weaned DD1 at 20 weeks I think. I would up the milk and hopefully he'll settle!

Cheenab, E is awake most of the day. She likes her play mat and her bouncy chair and loves watching DD1 and the dog! She is quite whingey when tired and won't settle then without either me holding her standing up or me feeding her!

Pip sorry you had to come home early from your night out that's hard. Poor O - hope your appointment goes well this week.

Hello everyone else too xx

AFM teething baby here massively - chewing everything, drool, fists in mouth etc. no sign of teeth yet though. Had her weighed today, 13lb 6 - bang on 50th centile so that will do me! She's more than half her sisters weight already! No sign of rolling over yet etc but she's so alert and smiley it's lovely to just sit on the floor and smile at her! DD1 had a fab birthday, she loved the cake DH decorated. Her appointment at great ormond St hospital went well- we need to wait another year then see the consultant again to schedule in surgery. Her lip has got bigger he said but still no need to operate right away. Phew!

That's good news on the surgery front Net and on the weight front. My 2 year old is almost the same weight and height as my 6 year olds!! She's big and they're small.

Wardie I'd up the milk intake. My chunky monkey used to take 5 x 8oz bottles from about 8 weeks old!!

Pip that's a shame you had to come home. Hope the appt goes well. H only started to sit unaided last week when he was 8 months and a week so they definitely don't all sit by 6 months.

Ashatar sorry to hear there's no improvement with DS skin. I hope the new cream helps. May make no difference to your little man but the foods my DSD was really bad with was oranges, tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries and pork. She was also bad with dogs, cats and horses.

For once not about a baby I came off the pill a few weeks back as I hate being on it. I didn't get coil put in as we just aren't sure we are done and coil is obviously a long term solution. I know we are taking a bit of a risk in case we would fall preggers before 12 months since we had H. I've been in real pain in my tummy. I know it's probably my dodgy ovaries but gosh it's so sore. Just hoping my AF comes soon as maybe that'll help!!

I know net, I was thinking the same, when I first joined there were threads every month with groups of ladies going through treatment together u don't see half as much now. I wouldn't have got through it without the support on here.

Glad DD had a good birthday and hospital visit went well.

Heather, I am just thinking of going on the pill, I hate the thought of taking more hormones and it does seem crazy after all the years of trying, to no avail but I wouldn't want to fall pregnant when the twins r still so young, waiting on the invention of the male pill, not fair us woman have to do it all.

Hoping for a good nights sleep for us all tonight

Oh ladies I'm so stressed. R was sleeping about an hour when he woke up screaming. I went into his room and he'd scratched his face so much his sleeping bag and baby grow were soaked in blood! He was so distressed that I had to hold his arms down and rock him to sleep after I got him cleaned up. I can't stand seeing him in so much discomfort. I think I'm going to have to try to find somewhere that will do private allergy testing as he cant go on like this while we wait on the hospital.

Thanks heather. I suspect strawberries may be a problem but really hope he's not allergic to our dog. That would be a nightmare.

While he scratching make sure you put mitts or socks on his hands so he doesn't cut himself. You can buy special pjs that have built in mitts. If he's bad is prob go privately because you could be waiting weeks for hospital appt. I'd also ask GP for an antibiotic. If he has an underlying infection albeit mild throat infection or whatever it can cause a flair up. H's had 2 courses of antibiotics- once for his skin to see if it helped and it did. Also second time for chest infection and it also helped his skin!! Might just settle it down for him.

Ashatar I'm so sorry that must be so distressing for you.hearhers advice is fab, hope you get something sorted for R ASAP. We took DD privately for allergy testing as the nhs wait was so long. Do hope he's not allergic to your dog. What dog do you have? I have a miniature schnauzer and I dreaded either DD bring allergic. I think schnauzers are low allergy as I'm allergic to most dogs apart from, him!

Good luck

Thanks ladies. I got scratch mits onto him but he was still rubbing like mad at his face and was up screaming twice more before he settled for the night. His face looks raw today. I've been looking online but can't find anywhere that does private allergy testing on babies. Will keep looking though as I'm sure there must be somewhere.

Net our dog is a cairn terrier cross. We will be devastated if he is the problem as we love him very much. My DH is also mildly allergic to dogs although ours doesn't affect him.

Ashatar I'd ring through to the dermatology dept of the hospital where he has been referred and ask one of the secretary's due to the length of waiting lists can he/she tell you how'd do private appts for his age? Or ring and ask your GP who they'd recommend as you want to go private. Hospital secretary will be well used to queries about private work so don't be embarrassed asking them.

Oh my goodness waiting time for a routine appointment is 77 weeks and 14 weeks for urgent! I don't know if the doctor has requested urgent or not but either way it's far too long to wait. How can they expect a poor wee baby to suffer for that length of time? Looks like I'm going to have to try to find the money to take him somewhere privately. Heather, I asked if they could recommend anywhere and they said to contact the Ulster independent clinic. Will get in touch with them today xx

Oh Ashwater that must've been heartbreaking. Seems so unfair that you need to go private.

With regards to weaning it might be worth reading up on early weaning if you haven't already. I believe their little tummies arent ready for food so early. I we and both DD and DS at 6 months and they are both great eaters in terms of quantity and variety.

Cheenab J loves his playmat or just sitting in bouncy chair watching everyone. Tbh he still sleeps alot and spends alot of time in the sling so it really is only small periods of time he needs & yes that will be fine entertaining.

Where has everyone gone??? It would've been so hard without his site when going through treatment.

Oh ashstar it must b heartbreaking seeing him like that, is he still under a pedeatrician due to being prem? Can u contact them, it seems to work here that the hospital can have other hospital depts see u allot quicker than the GP can.

Olivia still a bit under the weather, I left her with her gran for an hour today and took Amelia to a sensory class she hadn't been getting much attention with Olivia needing it all, it was nice having a bit of one and one time.

Ashastar, your little man sounds exactly like my nephew his face used to be red raw and bleeding constantly, my sister got referred to a consultant who just said it was eczema and never really helped a lot, but he has grown out of it without any major help apart from steroid cream he's 18months now.
Really hope you can get some answers soon, and your little man is soon on the mend

Hi to everyone else :)
This site is soooo quiet now, I do keep thinking maybe it's time to stop coming on as I keep in contact with quite a few of you on fb now, but I would really miss not coming on here!!
It's such a shame as this has always been such a supportive site, and I've made some really fab friends from on here who I get to meet up with every now and again and if it wasn't for this journey I never would have met them :)
