IVF Scotland - Edinburgh

Just wondering if anyone has had their treatment at the new IVF Scotland clinic in Edinburgh?? been looking at their site and tbh it looks to be quite a good one and the treatment price package thing doesn't seem too shabby. Only concern is the fact that they haven't been open all that long - May 2010 - if anyone has been here would be great to hear any feedback on this one please.

Thanks

Hi Emma,

We had our ICSI there and I'm pregnant with twins so they're doing something right! The consultants are very well regarded and all the nursing staff are really nice and professional. They were based at Murrayfield before but I think the new clinic means a totally new slate for statistics.

Anything else you want to know then just ask! And good luck with your journey.

Aww Congrats on the twins!! If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for everything and how long from 1st consult to the actual treatment did you wait?

Thanks Emma! We had to go for ICSI and it cost about £6,000 roughly. Most of the drugs are included in the package price but sometimes they charge extra if you need more stimms or down-regging.

The FET cost £800 just for the transfer and thawing. We had already gone through an ICSI cycle which was unsuccessful so the FET wasn't the full amount you'd have to pay - if that makes sense?

As for waiting times, I think it was only a couple of months at the most from meeting the consultant to actually starting treatment. Not long at all.

Are you trying for NHS treatment?

Hi Kelpie,

Do you mean the clinic in Little France? If so one of my best friends has a beautiful 4 month old baby boy from her 3rd cycle there. I think it's Little France anyway.

Hey not been on in a while so not had chance to reply to anyone. Just by chance I came on tonight and there are 2 new ones. Yeah I think we're going to try for NHS funding first. Just started a new job so don't really want to take any time off too soon into it if you know what I mean. We've our consultant on the 16th so will just see what happens from there. If we manage to get saved, settled and sorted then I think I probably would go with this clinic. Good luck with your treatment Claire let me know how you get on if you don't mind?

Hi Easter Eggs,

We had our treatment at the private hospital at Shawfair, the Little France place is part of the Royal Infirmary and the same consultant covers both places.

The Royal at Little France has a good reputation I think. It certainly does for its twin clinic anyway - I've gave birth two weeks ago to our twins at 33 weeks and the care has been amazing, and we're getting them home this weekend!!!!
