Waiting lists in Cardiff

Hi all....

We have been referred for ICSI in Cardiff. My consultant said that the waiting list was about 6monthsbut that can't be right from what I was reading about. Now, either Wales' waiting list has drastically gone down or he simply has no clue.

I just wondered if anyone here could share how long they had to wait for treatment.

I have been with ivf wales but not under the nhs as they would not take us. (We went privately through them - which they don't do anymore). My friend though is on the waiting list there and she called them yesterday for an update as she was told in January she would be called up in July/Aug. Yesterday they told her they have lost 2 consultants so she won't hear anything until january.

Not sure if it will be the same as you as she is waiting to have the first consultation, and will then be on the next waiting list for tx itself.

Just thought I would post incase it helps.

Wish you all the best and I hope your appointment is soon x

Could it be down to your situation? I had IVF in Swansea and was told the waiting list would be 1yr min. but they pushed me through due to my history...... then the Cons. did my AMH and wrote to the trust to see if they could secure funding faster........ it all happened within a year.
