Newbie - TTC #2 with male fertiliy problems

Hi All,

My husband and I have a 3 year old daughter conceived naturally within 5 months, straight forward pregnancy and birth. We decided 20 months ago to try for another, 12 months into trying and no pregnancy I decided to go to doctors and have bloods done for ovulation and thyroid. Tests came back fine and doc advised having my husband checked, his results came back low count, low morphology but high motility. Doctor said that it's not impossible for us to conceive again as we've proven it can be done and our daughter is proof of that but it will be very difficult. We're both devastated, we thought we had it all planned out, not too much of an age gap etc. My husband has been taking Wellman Conception, Zinc, Folic Acid, Vitamin C & E, we're hoping that will give us the boost we need. As we have a child already we wouldn't get IVF on the NHS and we're not able to afford private treatment at the moment.

I'm finding it all very difficult to deal with at the moment, I know I am much more blessed than most people on here as I have a beautiful, healthy daughter who I love more than words can say however, I so much want a brother or sister for her, she deserves a sibling and it breaks my heart to think that she won't ever have one. :bawl: I pray every month that just one wee swimmer has made the journey, hopefully one day soon.

I take alot of comfort and hope from forums like this and look forward to hearing you stories and advice.

TTC 18 months with low sperm count and motility

Hi! I am new to this, we are going through a really stressful time and thought I might join here for some support, my dh had a sa about 4 months ago while we were waiting for the fertility appointment, it came back low count and motility, the hospital did not do another other tests apart from volume, we had out fertility appointment at the beginning of May and they sent my dh for another sa, we waited for 6 weeks for the appointment, that was 3 weeks ago and we cannot get the results until we get a letter, they say do not stress but it is really difficult when we are waiting for his test, we have tried different herbal things to try and help things along but have no idea if they are working, the fact they make you wait so long in between hearing from them is driving us mad!!!

Hi I am also new to all this, ttc for 7 months (not a long time i no) but everyone round about me was having babies so decided to go to the doctor, we have just found out by husband has low sperm count (only 5000), i'm not sure of the name the doctor gave it but the doctor explained it that some of the sperm were dead and the other sperm that was alive did not have tails so there was a 0% chance we would ever conceive naturally :bawl:

We are both devasted.

We could afford one round of private IVF as we do not want to wait the 2 1/2 years NHS waiting list.

Any advice, similar problems and success stories would be much appreciated
