Dr George Ndukwe leaving Care Nottingham before we had our first consultation with him. What shall we do now?

Hi,

After 3 frozen and 3 fresh cycles elsewhere, we had decided to pursue the immunology route. With Dr Ndukwe being a specialist in recurrent failed IVF, we are keen for him to have a look at our situation and hopefully help us.

The initial appointment sent to us was for August but we were unable to attend on that date so rearranged for Sept. However, when the confirmation arrived in the post, the consultant is Ken Dowell. It was only when I tried to change the appointment back to being with Dr Nduwke that I was told that he is leaving. I must say I feel a little annoyed that this was not mentioned when I called to rearrange. If I had not noticed, and turned up expecting to see Dr Ndukwe, I would be gutted. Especially as it would mean another long wait to get to see him.

After, a little research I discovered that he is moving to Zita West's clinic as the new medical director.

So, my question is:- Shall I give Care a try as planned or go to Zita West? Advice much appreciated.

I must admit it will be a nuisance getting to central London but we really had our hearts set on seeing Dr Ndukwe.

Thanks as always for your help.

HI Lilly welcome to :FZ: ,
this other doctor may also be an expert on failed IVF/Immunology, so it may still be ok. Otherwise if you really want to see that specific doctor then go to his new clinic.
Take care

Ken Dowell is a nice consultant, he was who i saw first as he is the male factor specialist. He is a good communicator.

I believe that a consultant called Maha Ragunath is supposed to be being trained by George to fill his role when he leaves. Dr Ragunath is actually my consultant at the moment as i switched to save waiting time and although she is a very nice women, I am not very confident in her ability to communicate and organise so far.

Hi there, sorry to but in on your thread, but I thought I'd offer my opinion.

I also saw Dr Ragunath a month ago and can't say I was very impressed. She was a lovely lady, but it was obvious she had'nt read any of our notes prior to our meeting.. she seemed some what disorganised and in a rush to get us out of the door. I got the impression she was giving stock answers, so when I pulled my pre-prepared list of questions out I don't think she was too impressed!

I'm sure you're decision will be the right one for you, but my impression of her was enough to discourage me from having treatment there.

Good luck x

I also had an appointment with Dr George in August at Care. We decided to follow him to Zita West in London. Its our last attempt as finances are running out. I say if thats who you want follow him.

I saw him last week and he told us that since he started in Sept at Zita West his pregnancy success rate was at 80%!

I like Dr G as he is so genuine and doesn't want to rip his clients off with excessive fee's for bood test etc, the man has great morals. Check out the fees for Zita West on the website - they are not bad for London. They also do telephone and skype appointments so you dont have to go to London for some appointments.
