ICSI after surgical sperm retrieval

Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help. We've just had an appointment with our doctor and always think of questions to ask afterwards!

My partner had a surgical sperm retrieval op on Tuesday and we have 12 good straws of healthy sperm thankfully. We will be starting ICSI in the next couple of months. I assumed I would have to have injections to boost my egg production even though I don't appear to have any problems myself, but someone has suggested I might not.

Any help would be appreciated.

Deb

Yes you will need to follow the normal ivf path of injections and egg collection and then each egg will be individually injected.

My little boy is a result of icsi and I am now pregnant with number 2- both via ser.

Good luck Hun.x

Thanks Gemma, I assumed that would be the case but somebody asked me the question and put doubts in my head. I'm hopefully starting the injections then in Sept.

It's really good to hear success stories - good luck with your pregnancy

my little girl is also the result of icsi after surgical sperm retreval.

As gemma said u have to go through ivf injection in the same way. But just wanted to bob by and let u know that it can be very successful cos my almost 3 week old daughter in my arms at the moment is another success story.

best of luck with your treatment deb xxxx
