Immunology at Lister Clinic or with Dr Gorgy???

Hi Ladies,

I'm hoping for some advice...

I have a follow up appointment booked at the lister clinic after a 4th failed IVF cycle and was thinking about having immunology done there for our next treatment. However they don't do the Chicago tests.

I am wondering whether to go and see Dr Gorgy (who does do the Chicago tests) for immunes and then have ICSI at the lister.

Has anyone had immunes done at the lister?

Hi Sunrise,

I'm not with Lister but I did have immune tests with Dr Gorgy, as my clinic didn't offer them. I chose him based on costs only as he seemed to be the cheapest. I have my results back and if we decided to do immune TX then we'll do it with Dr Gorgy, and IVF with my own clinic.

Hi Sunrise!

I obviously haven't been to the Lister and have just started my immunology journey with Dr Gorgy. I would say that Dr Gorgy is your best bet for immunology tests as he is happy for you to do the immunolgy tx whilst doing your ICSI cycle at a different clinic. I don't think that there are any other specialists that you can go to for immunology tx who are happy for you to have your ICSI cycle elsewhere.

Goodluck with whatever you decide x

thanks ladies for your quick responses!

Just checking - is Dr Gorgy at the Fertility and Gynaecological academy? I was trying to Google him but for some reason I didn't think he was actually at a clinic where they did IVF because I have only heard of people seeing him for immunology and then having their treatment cycles done elsewhere...

does dr gorgy do ivf cycles too as well as the immunology tests and treatment? - seems easier to have it all in one place?

Hi Sunrise

You can have fertility tx through Dr Gorgy as well but I think that tx takes place at another clinic if that makes sense.

I did immune tests with Dr. Gorgy and cycled with him. He does all the scans and follow ups at his clinic but does ET and EC at London Fertility Center which is a 3 min walk away from his clinic. It was not a hassle and they were all very sweet at London Fertility Center.

This is Dr. Gorgy's website:

Good luck!

Hi Rii

I wondered how it worked with Dr Gorgy. That's good to hear that the clinic where you go for ET and EC is only 3 minutes away.

Did you have to have a lot of scans during your tx cycle? I'm just wondering how many trips up to London I will need to make.

Hi B,

I guess it all depends how long you stim for. I usually only stim for ten days. So he starts with the base line scan and then 3 days later another scan and 3 days later another scan but i also had daily blood tests because i had an oestradiol flare before so he wanted to keep a close eye on my bloods and how they were rising. If you need a place to stay, and very nice and not too expensive place that rents out studios is 2 devonshire street. If you want more info about them just tell me and i will post it. How far are you from London?

Good luck..xoxo

Hi Ladies,

Thanks so much for all your help and advice. I have made an appointment to see Dr Gorgy on Tuesday 16th August in the morning so we can both have blood tests done afterwards. We are also seeing Mr Tolba in the afternoon for a follow up for our failed ICSI cycle in May/June.

Hopefully we will still be able to do another treatment cycle this year...

It would be useful to know the info about the studios for rent at 2 Devonshire Street - thanks

Hi

Good to hear you have both appointments Sunrise - I hope they both go well.

Rii could I have the details about the rental place as well. I'm near to Devizes so it's about 1.5 hours to Ruislip where I normally take the tube which takes 30 minutes. We normally stay at friends in Ruislip but it may sometimes be handy to stay in London.

I added the website above. The address is 2 devonshire street and it is 5 min walk from Dr. Gorgy's Clinic. They have two sizes premium and classic. Not a big difference in both really. Just a little big bigger. They both have a small kitchen, bathroom and free internet. Very friendly staff too!

I contact a lady named Trixie and she really helps with the bookings. Her number is: 207 313 5879
