Follow up appointment

Hi can anyone tell me what happens in a follow up appointment please. We just failed our first cycle of ICSI and have our follow up appointment 22nd August. I'm trying to get my head around everything and want to be prepared. Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

Hi hun,
Sorry to hear your treatment didn't work. Our 1st IVF cycle ended in a miscarrige. We had our follow up appointment in June and basically the Dr just spoke about whether he would do anything differently this time which they are not! And basically answered any questions we had, which we had quite a few. Also helps to answer some of those questions that are going round & round in your head and puts your mind at ease. Ours then set up a schedule for our next round and advised we needed our bloods redone.
For us I have to ring on day 1 of end of August AF then can start DR again Sept with EC & ET to be in October and I was able to request a General for EC this time!

I hope this helps a little xxxxx

Thanks Wardie.I'm so so sorry to hear of ur loss and really appreciate your advice. I had a letter from hos today and I'm now under a new specialist which really confused me, but I'm sure they know what they are doing. Who knows maybe we will be cycling together x

Hi nadine,

they normally tell you what they think went wrong, and plan the next step. It is a good idea to ask questions then. Take a notebook, write the questions in advance and their answers. It is your chance also to say what you think and if you want any changes in your protocol.

Check this: INITIAL AND FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS

Glad I could help. About the counselling, if you are unsure book a session and try it. It is free at most clinics.
Take care x

That's a good idea Maria. I work in a school so have 6 weeks off soon which will give me time to sort myself out again. Hope you are well x
