Trying to understand my Immune test results..

Hi Ladies,

I've just received my immune test results from the ARGC, Dr. T hasn't seen it yet but I'm sure they'll call to explain something this evening. But I wanted to do some research and get some information before I started so that I can understand the course of treatment they'll prescribe and what your thoughts are:

50:1 14.3
25:1 12.0
12.5:1 9.3
IgG conc 12.5 50:1 14.5
IgG conc 12.5 25:1 10.1
IgG conc 6.25 50:1 11.2
IgG conc 6.25 25:1 11.7
% CD3 79.7
%CD19 17.3 (high)
%CD56 6.2
%CD19 + cells CD5+ 3.5 (low)

I think I need to get a degree to understand this!! HELP!

Hi Sam,
Normally they are quite good at ringing and explaining. I don't know what the top 3 are as you haven't said, but I think they are natural killer cells. The ones with % then followed by a CD and a number are different natural killer cells. The ones with IgG conc before numbers is how the killer cells respond to IVG or intra lipids treatment.

They will look at these results and tell you if you need steroids, IVG/Intralipds and what concentrations.

While you wait check this:
Reproductive Immunology, recurrent miscarriages and unexplained infertility

Hi Sam

I thought I'd posted in here but somehow it hasn't appeared! The NK cell readings would suggest that you probably don't have a NK problem. Clinics like readings to be under 15, so you've just scraped through. The CD numbers especially CD19 do show potential immune issues. These may be treated by steroids alone.

The link that Maria has listed does give a nice clear rundown of all the tests and what the results can mean.

Hi ladies,

I've been going through that and while most of it is flying above my head - I just figure that if Dr. T isn't worried, then i shouldn't be. Deep breath out!!
