Hi hun

I've sent you a PM on the PAI-1 test too.

For general info this test establishes whether or not your body has the ability to break down clots - particularly those formed when the placenta embeds in the uterine wall.

There are other reasons for this test (other none IVF medical issues), but it is only pertinent in TTC during the first few weeks of pg when there is "trauma" to the uterine surface that needs remodelling. In those of us who are PAI-1 negative we lack the ability to effectively break down these natural clots at the placenta surface. This can prevent proper blood flow and therefore the establishing of the placenta's function.

Metformin will help stabilise this condition if you're found to have an issue.

Hi hun

The letter from Chicago didn't give me a figure on the results sheet CARE sent through to me. Just said positive for heterozygous mutation!

I'm on 1700mg of metformin and I think that's the max dose - so I imagine its a high-ish reading?? What have they put you on?
