New and sad

Hello. My first post on a sad day. We had IUI 14 days ago and got a negatiev test today. We are now considering IVF. Why waste more time with IUI? Has anyone had a similar experience? Happy 2011 to you all. Bodicea

Hi Bodicea,

Sorry you got a BFN result. I hope 2011 brings you the right result. Just wanted to wish you all the best for your next teatment. I've only had one cycle of IVF/ICSI and it didn't work for me, but there are loads of people on here that it has worked for.

Take care, love, macD x

Dear macD

Thank you for the encouraging words. Was such a nice surprise to receive a post. Feeling a bit less down. Lots of cooking to do for tonight's feast. It will be good to spend it with friends and family after a dissapointing day that's getting better. Let hope return. Happy 2011 to you, your child and loved ones. :yumyum:

Hi Bodicea. Sorry to hear about the BFN. It's normal to feel sad. Hang in there! Now's not a good time to make decisions.

I had 5 cycles of IUI (2 with drugs) and one of IVF. Got our BFP with the IVF - which was our final go before the money ran out! - and our baby is coming in Feb. Looking back I am glad I did the IUI cycles because it prepared me for the IVF which is much more invasive and intense. Hind sight is not much use though and I know several people who've had success with IUI.

Try to look after yourself and take it easy. It's tough out there.

Take good care, :hugs:
