suspected Endo?

I've been getting the following symptoms since March of this yr and was wondering if it sounded like endo?

painful ov, very painful cramps on first 2 days of AF, spotting from ov to AF, irregular cycles and cramps felt after sex ocassionally.

I've been ttc for 13 months, but had a mc March this yr. Ultrasound came back fine, so now waiting for a lap and dye. The strange thig is, that when I was on the pill, I didn't have any symptoms at all. Is this normal? I've also been diagnosed with low progesterone and a short LP.

Any advice greatly appreciated

x

Hello,

It sounds possible that it could be. There are varying degrees and different types of endo though.
Its sounds as though you are gong through some tests already so they will probably pick up anything up through out these.
Be sure to tell the consultant/your doctor all your symptoms frequency etc and dont let them brush you off.

Good Luck.

Hello,
Agree with last post, lap and dye will def help - I always had painful periods since my teens, just thought it was one of those things, only when TTC did I look into it more. Some common markers for endo are painful periods with heavy blood loss, short monthly cycle (mine's 25 days as opposed to traditional 28) backache, pain in abdominal area, constipation during period, painful intercourse....
Not all will apply, but may ring a bell with you?
Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I certainly get bad backache, stomach pains and heavy blood loss, but my cycles are quite long.

I used to get painful period when I was a teen, but went on the pill at 16 and only came off it last October when I was ttc at the age of 34. Is it possible that the pill has been masking/helping with the symptoms and when I came off it, the pain came back do you think?

Also, if it is endo, even if it's bad can they remove a lot of it and will this help with ttc?

One more question, can endo cause low progesterone, as I've been diagnosed with that recently too.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so worried at the moment and will probably be waiting at least 6 weeks for the lap.

I conceived fairly quickly the first time, but since the mc in Match, I've had all of these awful symptoms and can't get pg again.
Thanks

Hi - Its quite possible the pill was masking some symptoms as hormones play a massive part.
Removal of some of the endo (if thats what it is) will certainly help. They can now operate on some quite severe cases.
Really not sure about the progesterone, but depending on how bad that is they will be able to correct/help with that using pessaries or injectables.

Before you know or are sure what it is its difficult to know what route to go down, but there are some good books that will help, I have The Fertility Plan, and also I highly reccommend accupuncture, it really does help.

On a positive note, my friend has quite severe endo, has had ops to remove some, been on clomid and all sorts, she started a healthy diet plan and went for accu every week to someone who specialises in fertility accu and she got her natural BFP! It's possible, there is always hope, you will get there.
Its hard not to at the moment, but stressing wont help you, try and get yourself healthy for you, read up as much as you can, and have some relaxing treatment that will help you as well as your fertility and see what the consultants say.

In the meantime, everyone on here is just great for filling in any gaps and giving you hope when you are low.
