Confusion On When To Start Drugs?

Hey ladies,

Hope your all ok?

Can anyone help me as im really confused i'm about to start on the long protocol - I have been told by my clinic to call the unit on the first day of my next period, they said that they would organise a drugs apointment for me and then on day 23 I would start down reg? Will I be taking any drugs before day 23?

If anyone knows please advice?

thanks

Hey hon,
The first cycle is always confusing I can remember that feeling well.
We started on down reg drugs on day 21 and didn't take any other drugs before hand (apart from foloc acid and vitamins). We then went for a scan 2 weeks after this to check that the ovaries were clear and the lining has dispersed. We the starated on the stimulation drugs. Each clinic is different and they have different protocols, if you're unsure ring them to double check.
Hope this helps :xxx3:

Thanks again :-) xxx

Hi Ladybear,

Starting on Day 23 of your cycle sounds about right for the long protocol but the others are right that most clinics are different in some way or another which does make it confusing at times.

Just wanted to wish you luck for your first cycle. I hope all goes well and it brings you your BFP.

Thanks girls partee

Yhea I called the unit today they confirmed that on the first day of my period I call them, they will arrange my apointment to teach me to administer the drugs then just before day 23 they will have the drugs delivered to me ready to start on day 23!

They did tell me all this last week at my apointment, but I was given so much information about the whole process I forgotton some of it ooops :scared: My DH couldnt remember either because he was horrifed at the thought of injecting me ( he has a fear of needles ) so I will be doing it myself.

Thanks for your wishes my period should be here next week so it will be the longest month ever, but at least I will be moving in the right direction. I will keep you all updated - This site is a godsend it makes it so much easier to know that I can speak to people in similar situations. Friends like to think they understand, then come out with a comment to show that they just dont get it.

Speak soon - any advice you want to throw my way, I'm open to ideas to improve our chances
