Any thoughts on when to stop supplements during ICSI/IVF cycle?

Hi everyone, does anyone have any thoughts on when to stop taking supplements during an ICSI/IVF cycle? I'm taking DHEA, CoQ10 and wheatgrass. I'll keep taking the folic acid throughout.

Thanks! Cathy x ?(

Hi Cathy,

I would always check with your clinic about when the best time to stop taking your supplements is, I would imagine that the most important one to stop is the DHEA but ask your Doc Hun.

Good luck! x

Morning! Your best bet is to check with your clinic. I was taking wheatgrass before my IVF treatment and was told to stop. The only supplement they were happy with me taking was folic acid. Your consultant should tell you when to stop.

Good luck with your treatment.

I would take pregnancy supplements like pregnantcare. Ditch anything else.

mistykins - pregnacare contains the recommended dosage of folic acid, so you don't need to double up (although there is no harm in taking more). It also contains loads of other useful stuff, like iron and vitamins, so it was all I was recommended by the nurses when I started treatment. You can start taking pregnacare any time (keep an eye out for special offers in places like Tesco, Superdrug and Boots and stock up!).

Hi Everyone, sorry I've not got back to you - I've been away. Thanks for your advice. I asked my clinic and they said stop everything (DHEA, CoQ10) except the folic acid (which I take as pregnacare) and the wheatgrass.
