Not long to wait now Flower - I have my fingers crossed for you. xfingers

I have my scan tomorrow morning - I've made it through 5 jags!!!! :D I am trying to tell myself to expect the worse, that 1st cycles are hit or miss but I know that i'm kidding myself on, I'll be gutted if theres nothing there.

Has anyone else experienced a funny taste in your mouth after jags - the past 2 days I have been getting a kind of medicine like taste that lasts all day and slight numbness in my tongue that kicks in a few seconds after my jag?? It isn't listed as a side effect and I thought I was imagining it yesterday but it happened again today. ?o(

Hiya Opal, well done in getting through the jags.....be prepared though for the clinic giving you more! I thought I had 5 days of jags, then when I went for my scan, nothing was showing, then got more jags! Just remember not to be downhearted if nothing's showing, as it may be that you just need a few more jabs  . I havent suffered any side effects from the jags...it may be worth saying to the nurse 2moro.

let us know how you get on. Good luck xxx

Hi Flower,

Well, much as expected, no response. I got another jag this morning and one to take away with me for tomorrow then another scan on Friday. The way she was talking though, I think they may well abandon it after Friday if nothings happening and try again next month with stronger drugs.

I didn't mention the side effects because i'm too scared they'll say that I cant take it any longer and they wont give me anything else.

When are you allowed to test?

Hiya Opal,

A lot of peoples first attempts are abandoned. I was very upset when it happened to me last cycle, but just remember the first time is always the hardest for the nurses as they're trying to get to know your bodys reaction to the new drugs. An abandoned cycle doesnt count as one of your allowed numbers anyway. Fingers crossed. xfingers

Well im 10 dpo and getting quite nervous!! Nurse says af due 17th, but I reckon she's due 19th as my cycle is around 34 days long. if no period by 22nd, then Ive to go back to clinic with my pee pot!!! I feel sick every time I think about it now! I thought I was coping pretty well too!! :yumyum:

Hi Ladies, sorry ive been off line for a while.Work has been manic and then it was my first wedding anniversary last weekend and me and my DH went away for a lovely weekend.

Kerry - so sorry to hear about your BFN - thinking of you and your DH. Thanks for the tip on the pineapple juice - im off to buy in bulk.
Flower - how well are you doing to be getting to the end of your 2ww - the second week is always the hardest but your nearly there - bring on your pee pot! fingers crossed for you.

slyfoxey, praying for a mircacle and opel - hope all going well for you - sounds like lots of BDing going on which is always good.

Lozza - hows things with you - will try and find you on the IVF pages.

i had my follow up last week and they have advised for us to move on to IVF even though they dont know what the success rates are with IVF and thin endometrium. we know they are much lower than normal IVF success rates but not by how much as no studies have been completed.so me and my DH have had to do a lot of thinking about whether we go ahead but we have decided to as it appears to be the only option.so i start IVF at the end of august!! Im scared not because of the treatement but because i feel we are a step closer to hitting the end of the road - i know i shouldnt feel like that and maybe il be fine when i get my head round it - bet you all wish id stayed away now

anyhow so il still be popping by to see how you are all getting on - wishing you all lots of luck and sending lots of baby dust your way

Good Luck JLC1

Went back to the clinic for my scan today. Finally managed to measure my lining, its at 6mm which I think means it is thickening, all be it very slowly. Still no dominant follies though just loads of small ones. Got another jag and another 2 to take away for the weekend and back for a scan on Monday.

You must be very nervous Flower - stay strong you dont have long to go.

I've started my first IUI cycle with medication on Tuesday. 150 of gonal-f for 3 days then down to 75. I have appt tomorrow at hosptial to see how I'm responding which is CD7. I think it is doing something as I need to pee alot and I sort of feel like I've got a constant sore stomach in the evenings. Either that it's nerves at the thought of another jag later on tonight. :snigger:

Hello all! Good luck with that test tomorrow Flower! Fingers crossed!

JLC - know exactly what you mean about one step closer to the end of the road. I spent last weekend wallowing and it was good to get that out of my system. It was like I needed to adjust - almost grieving and moving from hopeful (especially during the 2 week wait period on the last IUI) to realistic, reading up on the success rates of IVF, what the process involves etc. And silly things like adjusting from what I had planned to spend our savings and time on (doing up our house and having a nice holiday!) to taking my annual leave for IVF and living with the state of our house for a little bit longer!

I have an appointment with the consultant tomorrow and expect to start IVF in September - think this month might be a bit quick and don't think I can do August because of work deadlines in September. Are you on the IVF boards? Will have my appointment and then join up on there ( but keep in touch on here to find out how everyone's doing!).

Take care

Hi everyone, How are you all?

I have my first cycle scan on Tuesday this week so will know a bit more then about what my ovaries are doing - hoping I'm not overstimmed as was ovulating on 50 clomid and am now on double dose of 100 - so hoping for good follicles but not too many! Does anyone know at what number of follicles a cycle gets abandoned as it's considered overstimmed?

Bless you guys xx

Hello Praying4miracle. It's more than 3 follies of more than 16mm that trigger cancellation at my clinic. i.e. 3 is ok, more than 3 is too many. Hope that helps!

:hi: ladies,
Sorry been MIA for a while but Dh appointment didn't go as what we had hoped :-( so I had been very depressed an such. We was told can do 3 more I's an if don't get pg then next year we've got to move to ivf/icsi..So Dh was having a hard time dealing with what his specialist told him so it was really hard on us..But we was told not to give up hope yet as it could still happen..The specialist was happy to see his count was up an the movement but the strict morpology is really low..We're going to see if can get that strict morpology back up due to it use to be like 12% but now it's dropped between 0%-2% not sure why but Dh said going to try different stuff. I'm still on my 2ww which soon be over on the 26th. I pray it happen this time but if not then we go back to RE 28th an then do a IU sometime in Aug.

Ok sorry to much about me. I want to wish everyone lots of luck on their IUI or IVF or whatever you will be doing.

Flower I will keep me fingerscrossed for you hun. JCL hope your doing good an things going like suppose to for you.

As for everyone else take care an hope u all get a BFP soon. Congrats to the ones that has gotten a BFP.

Now I will get off here an get DD ready to go to camp for a week. Got bw due tomorrow for me an then call RE 23 to see what results is.

AF is now 2 days late and Ive just done a cheapie test....there's the faintest line ive ever seen there!!!! NOW.....I looked online and found a page that warned if youve had an HCG shot, then testing too early may still show signs of this and may be a false test?? Ever heard of this?

Im gonna buy a more expensive test today and do it again tomorrow morning. I feel like throwing up with worry! :angel2:

FLOWER - it sounds to me like a BFP - if you are 15days past your IUI then I would say it a deffo pregnancy! BUT like everyone is saying its best to test again tomorrow. FYI the cheapy tests are JUST as good as the expensive ones in my opinion - they are made with the same stuff its just the packaging etc thats different. I used the v expensive ovulation tests and just to check I used the cheap ones at the same time and they were ALWAYS the same as the digital clear blue. I tend to use asda or tesco branded ones now and its saves me a fortune on ovulation and pregnancy tests.

OTD means official test date. Did you get one from the hospital?

Harry and JLC1 will PM you guys, it looks like we might all be on the IVF journey together! Its been a bumpy ride for me so far and have had to change clinics etc but fingers crossed thats us now all ready to go in October. It takes a huge amount of energy to get your head around it all and of course when you have to self fund it means changing a lot of things in your life but lets hope you all get there in the very near future! Are you guys on the IVF boards yet - will have a wee nosey later.

Slyfox - Im sorry things are a bit stressful for you over the last while. Fingers crossed you get some good news on the 26th July. x

Spooklady - glad to see all is going well with you and wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

And lots of love and luck to all you other IUI ladies.

Hi Sunflower

If this is the date you are supposed to be testing on , then your trigger shot won't register anymore. This means you are pregnant. It doesn't matter how faint the line is. It will gradually get darker as the hormone builds up.

Hi girls,

well since my faint line yesterday morning, I done an Asda test in work yesterday afternoon and got another extremely faint line...even showed it to my close friend who saw it too. This morning (first wee of the day) I used the clearblue digital and it said "not pregnant"!! So, called the clinic and they've booked me in for tomorrow at 2pm. Dont know what to think now!

Af still not here, im so confused! ?o(

Hi Girls hope everyone is well :)

Flower i had very faint lines on my cheapy internet ones so i got a couple of frer's (first response early result) i read on numerous sites that these are like 99.9% accurate all the other ones didnt show dark til about 4 - 5 days afterwards also would like to say none of my tests showed positive until 30 days from my last cycle and the hcg was really low for the first 3 blood tests ( i had late implantation)

week 4 + 2 hcg 1 on the 8/06/10 = 72
week 4 + 5 hcg 2 on the 11/06/10 = 155
week 5 hcg 3 on the 14/06/10 = 632

Hope this puts your mind at rest good luck and fingers crossed for you.

Hi Everyone,

Flower - I can only imagine how you are feeling just now. I hope everything works out for you tomorrow. xfingers

I've now had 13 jags, last few have been double doses but my scan is still showing no change in my ovaries although lining is now up to 7.1. I have another scan on Friday and theres a good chance unless something major has happened that it will be abandoned after that.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

morning girls. Got my clinic appointment later today. Done another test this morning (tesco test) and BFN but still no AF.

Dont know what the hell's going on with my body...where did those faint lines come from the other day??? Im now thinking the stress is delaying AF. It just goes to prove a very faint line may not be what we think! In my case, it was twice in 1 day showing a faint line. Im extremely down and dreading going to the clinic for them to say out loud im not pregnant. DH has been such a darling to me, bless him. He feels completely helpless and I know he's down about this too but trying hard not to show it.

After the clinic, the plan is to go shopping for our suntan lotions etc for our hoiliday next month and have a nice late lunch....anything to stop me from breaking down!

Opal, good luck with your scan 2moro honey. xxx

Hiya,

well AF arrived not long after my last post, so a :BFN: for me this time :(

Went to clinic for my scan and they're not happy to start next round as I still have a very large follie/cyst. I told the nurse im due to go on holiday on 14 August, so she told me its better to leave treatment this time round, relax and enioy my time off. So thats what im gonna do. Ive spent the first half of the day in tears, then decided to pull myself together, so went out and bought myself a gorgeous maxi dress for holiday to cheer me up. Going out for dinner later with DH and will try hard to keep my mind away from ttc till my next af.

Flower, i'm so sorry honey - give yourself some time to get over this and enjoy your holiday. I dont imagine any amount of cycles will ever make this result easier but you need to look after yourself and get yourself back on track mentally for the next round. :hugs:

Thanks for all your good wishes ladies.

Flower, I'm really sorry. That's rubbish. Hope you have a lovely evening and as everyone is saying, give yourself some time. No one expects you to be brave and sometimes, a good cry helps. Big hug. Harry x

Sending you lots of love flower- it's so hard and after you had all that hope. I think taking a break really help and you'll have a great relaxing holiday and come back ready for your next go.

Sorry I haven't been around very much- I'm due to start IVF in september so harry and Lozza will probably see you both on those boards- although at the moment I feel a bit lost with it all and not sure where my FZ 'home' should be!!!
I'm quite nervous, but the tim ethat I have had off has really helped- I had lost all PMA by the end of my last IUI but it's slowly coming back again.

Hey Katiebee! Nice to hear from you! I'm starting IVF in September too and need to find the right new board - will have a look and see and let you know what looks like the right place. I think I'm long protocol if that makes any difference?

Nervous too (the consultant wants me on daily blood tests - eek) but part of me just wants to get on with it. Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone - sorry not to have been on for a while - had my first cycle scan on Tuesday and was overstimmed with 5 follicles so IUI abandoned - were told not not have sex but we already had so would be great if I was pregnant anyway! Saw my consultant today and have agreed I won't take any clomid next month and have a scan on 13th August to see what's going on, then make decisions about future IUI on lower does of clomid or natural cycle.

Bless you all x

Hi Flower, glad to hear your feeling a bit better - just take care of yourself honey. Scan went ok, lining is now 7.5mm (from 7.1 on wed) and I have 3 follies measuring about 1cm. It looks as though i'm finally starting to respond, albeit im now on day 21 of my cycle. She's lowered me back down to the lower dose again, just in case everything starts to go now so I have another scan on Monday and just need to see where that takes me. Of course I've now got my hopes up again so may be heading for a dissapointment on Monday if they abandon anyway.

Good luck moving on to IVF guys xfingers

Praying4miracle, - I think overstim is normal on the first cycle, I know you'll be disappointed but at least they'll have a better idea with the drugs next month.

Opal, 7.5 is good (think it needs to be 8), but you'll find this will thicken over the weekend! did the nurse say when they'd be looking to do IUI? Looks like you're a late ov same as me

Going to a party 2nite, so looking forward to a wee drink now im not on meds!!

Hi Flower,

Well lining is up to 8mm - only problem is I have 10 follies ranging from 18mm down to 10mm, I believe the nurse said that 7 were likely to pop! Cycle abandoned funnily enough. Oh and just to make matters even better we had sex on Saturday night.

I am pleased though that at least I know the drugs work now, I was beginning to doubt it.

I've to leave it 3 weeks and if my cycle hasnt started hand in a sample. Oh the joys!!

Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't been on, things have been very hectic and still trying to recover from everything. Back at the clinic on Weds to see if they will give us our last IUI or if we need to go for ICSI (which may not be until the new year. :( ) Had a really down day today, another friend announced she was pg, a week and a bit what I would have been and that has hit me really hard, just wondering when this is going to end for all of us, surely we have been through enough. Will see what dr says. I know I wasn't pg for that long, but I really miss being pg and just feel totally bloated and horrible all the time. Just want to get on with it and get back into tx now.

Flower - so sorry about your bfn and body playing tricks on you. (((())) take care and hang in there.

Waves to all

Just slight disomfort Flower, stomach feels a bit tight and my legs feel a bit achey. I did get a cracker of a pain this morning though, so i'm thinking that at least one of them has popped. I just hope I dont end up with septuplets..... :faint:

Julz, good luck from me too. x

evening,

just to let you all know, appt went ok, they are going to give us our last iui so guess that's good. Really nervous about it, bout it not working, bout it working and going wrong. Just a bundle of nerves I guess. Just need to dig out that PMA before we start again. Just have to wait for af and then book in and start DR on cd 21. So I guess not long now.

Hope everyone is doing well.

No not yet. If it's back to my normal cycle after mc, I should be due on weds for a 30 day cycle, but my first cycle after mc was only 25 days but I reckon that's a one off (hopefully) So will see what next week brings and if turns up on time. I'd either like it to be on time or not at all. (Not likely ;) )

Just taking each day at a time and what will be will be.

Hope everyone is well!
