Hello Ladies,
Just stopped in to say hello an to see how everyone is doing. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all to get a BFP soon. I pray you all don't have to go through this as long as we;ve had.

AFM: No good news yet. :-( Got a BFN this last month so now I'm in my 2ww again this month. Being praying it happen before July if not then our RE is going to sit us down again an talk about doing a Lap on me then go from there. I'm loosing all my PMA now as it taking forever to get a BFP. It seems everything is going wrong for us. I know this is crazy but will you all pray I get a BFP before July so will not have to do a Lap. I miss doing IUI's in lots of ways. When doing IUI's you know what all is going on with your body an know when the little swimmers are let loose. Here our doctor is wanting us to try on our own for a while too see if happen by July. Well in June my DH has a specialist appointment for him to check his testosterone levels again to see how he is doing on his Clomid. Then in July he will have another SA an our RE talk to us about what he will be doing to me. OH DEAR!!!! I'm praying that we get our BFP before July 2 as that is our 18yr anniversary.

Hi Slyfoxey - Sorry to hear you are having a tough old time of it - sounds like you have been on a very long journey. Im sending you lots of PMA and babydust to help you get there before July and to your DH. Sounds like he is having to go through his paces too. i know what you mean when you say you want to carry on with IUI beacuse it makes you feel like you are doing something but hopefully it will mean you can take a break from the drugs and get nice and healthy for the summer.Hang in there.

2ww ladies - how are you doing? Not long now.......have everything crossed for you.

I had my scan today and was woohoo - ing all the way out the door. Cant believe that my lining has increased to a grand 6.5 MM- even the doctor was shocked. Also i am going to ovulate but for some reason my smiley face day is delayed but they said its all worked in my favour as its meant that I have ben able to take my viagra for longer. And just got a phonecall from ARGC clinic with my blood test results and they have booked me to go in for IUI tomorrow- am very excited.

Hi ladies,

Well I was very silly this morning. Friend told me she was pg with no 2 yest, first one was conceived first cycle when we had been ttc 9 months, he's now 15 months and they have now got lucky 2nd cycle ttc. So I stupidly thought, maybe, just maybe, if I poas i might be BFP. Well no such luck. I'm only 9DPO so it's silly I know. But oh well. I really don't think it has worked. I think I have never really given this cycle a chance and had pretty much already written it off. I'm really keen to go back to ICSI, think it's the only thing that's going to work if it works at all. I am so pleased for my friend and I wouldn't wish this on anyone, just not sure I can face another lo arriving before we even fall.I'm just so ready to start he next chapter of this journey and be a mummy.

Sorry ladies, can't seem to find my PMA.

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Hey, get that PMA back Julz! It's really hard when friends announce they're preggers, however much we're happy for them. It'll be you soon. Fingers crossed!

Well, just to say I'm heading in for surgery on my back next week (aghhh!) so will be offline for a while and off TTC for quite a while too! Lots and lots of luck to you all this time round. Will log in and check results as soon as I can move again!

hello ladies,

hope you are all ok and not obsessing too much about each and every twinge- so hard waiting for the big test day! Don't loose heard Julz- far to soon to find out a true result just yet- our clincs give us the dates for a reason- anything before is unreliable! Af arrived for me so I'm off for my scan and blood test in the morning and the onto round number 4!!! OMG I didn't think it'd take this long- but I'm trying to feel positive- I think I'm more relaxed than I have been in a while... so we'll see how long it lasts!

Take care-when are you all testing (officially)?

Hi ladies,

Magic - that's great news! Gives us all a bit of hope. Wishing you a happy and healthy 8/9 months!

Katie - Yay for next round starting, this has got to be the one? How many shots do you get before you go for IVF?

JLC1 - welcome to the 2ww, fingers crossed for you!

Waves to everyone else! Hope you are all doing well.

Thank you for the PMA. Still not too hopeful but feeling better about it. I knew it was silly to test, and I'm not a POASer, I never do. I don't know what came over me and I knew it was way to early! So not going to test now and just be patient, only one and a bit days left. OTD is Thursday. Last night had a horrible row with my mum which really upset me and then I was upset cause I thought what if I did something to anything that was there. Then started getting cramps so then was more worried. Err, vicious circle. On and off crampy today and feels like af will be coming. Who knows. What will be will be.

Would be great to get some more BFPs on here, let's hope this is the start of loads to come!

Love luck and babydust

hello ladies. Am completely new to this and am hoping you wont mind me joining your chat??? Am hoping this site will help take my mind off things, am 2ww at the mo, due to test on 14th May from my first IUI cycle. must admit was a lot more painful than i expected but could just be due to my tilted cervix??? am also quite suprised at the cramping i've been getting since. feels like bad period pains constantly since the IUI. Is this normal???? Anyone out there know or going through the same???

Hi Kelly- Jay and welcome on board - its good to have another IUI girl with us.

My test day is the same as yours so we can compare notes :o)

Sorry to hear your IUI was painful - i cant really help you out on this one as mine was ok - just like a long smear test and i havnt had any pains since just a dull ache which the clinc said i would get from the progesterone and steroids - I know some of the other girls have had some pains so may be able to share more with you.I think everyone is different so try not to worry.

Sending you lots of PMA and hoping you get your BFP on the 14th xfingers

Thank you JLC1, wow, lets hope we both get BFPs!!!
Is this your 1st cycle too?
I think the pain during the iui was more than likely due to my tilted cervix, i'm fine with smears (have them yearly due to abnormalities years ago) but always have to raise my bum that extra bit higher so they can find my cervix!! I think the nurse just had a lot of problems findind the right place for the catheter so i had to be moved and lifted and poked and prodded a lot!!! Not that i'm complaining, i'd go through anything to get that BFP! Feel like i've waited long enough and its finally time.

Thanks for your advice, good luck for the 14th, will be thinking of you!!!!

Hello Lovely Ladies
Just stopped in to see how all was going.

Congrats to Magic that got a BFP. May you have a HH9 months.

Hope all of you others get your BFP very soon.

AFM: Got another BFN this morning I'm so heart broken that I woke my DH up out of his sleep an told him an said to him I'm beginning to think something is wrong with me because here your count isn't low no more an we BD every other day an still nothing. I told him if not pregnant by July when we do see our RE I'm going to tell our RE not to even talk about doing a Lap but go straight ahead as I feel something is wrong. I will be starting my meds here in 3 days so lets still keep our fingers cross for a BFP before July. I was really praying to have a BFP for mothers day.

Sorry for venting some but at least you all understand.

Slyfoxy :hugs: :cuddle i wont tell you to try to keep your PMA up cause i know how exactly this feels like cause i have been on that side for a long time...2 years of constantly seeing :BFN:s and halfway through my hubby joking that we just have to buy a test or even think of buying a test and ur :witch: will make her appearance....
i agree it was funny in the begining and then it became so depressing when i felt that my hubby was making fun of me ;( ...well this time too was no different he was not even letting me test saying the same thing but then our doc made me do the test and ....
So dear i would just say cry it out and that will release a lot of those depressing hormones...atleast thats what i used to do....and i used to gt so irritated with everyone and my anger just could not be controlled...but when i cried i found that i had a small modicum of peace...so why dont u try it [zx127]
now about the LAP ..well i was the last person who wanted to do a lap ...i even made my doc do an IUI without a lap...cause i just was so scared and used to feel that i would be so exposed lying on the table with my legs in the air and all of them peering inside :snigger: ....well to make my story short the first IUI didnt work and by then i had given up hopes and thats when i said what the heck lets do it....did the lap and dye and my doc also did a hysteroscopy and everything was just fine....that just doubled my anger ..what the hecks wrong then????? ....but everyone was like now u see its gonna happen as the path has been cleared....and surprisingly it turned out true....

SO TRY THE LAP
I will still pray that u get ur :BFP: before that

Spookylady.....hows it going  that u get your :BFP:

Morning everyone!

Welcome Kelly-Jay and good luck with the 2WW! All my IUIs have been v painful and I've not been told that I have a tilted cervix. They keep telling me it's a good thing and it means that the cervix muscle is strong (prob just saying it to make me feel better) - it's not v natural to poke something through it, so probably understandable that it hurts!!!

Spookey lady, I'm sending you a big hug, don't give up yet wait and see what saturday brings.
Sly- I'm so sorry hon, it's so hard seeing that BFN every month. Each time you are one closer to your BFP!!!

I'm doing ok, just my injections.. go back for a scan tues to see how things are growing. Been having a bit of accupuncture too, so that's been nice. I aslo did dome hypnotherapy trainnig this week- hypnotised my first person on WEdnesday and have been practising on DH. Think I want to get a lot more practice in with friends and vulunteers before I use it in my worK!
I was also hypnotised in the training and it was lovely, so relaxing- shame I can't do it to myself.

Anyway, better go and get some reports written, I'm also waiting to hear the election outcome... who knows what wlll happen!

Lots of love to you all

Morning ladies

Sorry to hear you had a BFN sly foxy - its so unfair - tho sound slike you have made up your mind on the lap. Once you have it down it will be one less worry as to always in the back of your head asking yourself if theres something else that they havnt picked up on.

Kelly- Jay - yes this is my first IUI too - we are half way to test day high5 - countdown begins !!

Glad all going well kaitie bee and your enjoying your acupuncture - for some reason I stopped mine after the first week this cycle and not sure why - and the Hypnotherapy sounds fun - what a great thing to learn.

Hope your hanging in there spookeylady

Hello ladies,

How is everyone? Well I thought I best that let you know how got on. It was all a bit confusing! So we turned up at the ACS on Thurs morning and we weren't down in the book. Great start! So I checked my sheet and it said Thrs 7th,but Thurs was the 6th! I just saw the Thurs and didn't even look at the date. So they squeezed us is anyway but said if it was-ve then we may have to come back cause it was a day early. You all know that wasn't very confident about this cycle. But as the nurse said 'miracles happen everyday!'

So my sis was arriving for the weekend and I went to the airport to collect her and Janice rang. She said the usual, DOB, have you bled, and I thought this is same conversation (all two sentences of i!) and thought next words were going to be -ve. Well blow my mind it was +ve! I was shaking and in shock. HCG was 41 so not hugely high but was also a day early. They said it was fine and just if I had any bleeding to get in touch. I looked it up and 48 is average for 14dp HCG trigger. And with IUI you have no idea when implantation was, it could have been a late one.

So needless to say I went and bought 2 FR packs, did one straightaway and there was a definite line but still faint, did one yesterday, much darker and one today even daker, hoping tomorrow/Monday will be as dark as control and then will stop doing them, but it's not far off. So relieved that he levels seem to be getting higher.

So IUI no 2 = :BFP:!!!! Just goes to show ladies, anything can happen, one failed ICSI, one failed IUI with 2-3 follies and good SA and this is the one that works! What are the odds!

We are obviously being very cautious as it is very early days and anything can happen but we are hopeful that this one will work out.

Love luck and babydust to all!

IUI Chat

Hi
Sorry but i havent been on here since last Oct / Nov, not sure if i'm on the right thread or not, I've just had my first IUI and wanted to talk about it.

I've bin TTC for about 6 years with no luck at all. A couple of weeks ago i had my first IUI (my first fertility treatment in total). Wasnt sure wot to expect, the stories on here made it a little easier for me, so thank you to everyone for that - really appreciate it.

After my injections, my scan showed one follicle at 19mm, one at 14mm and one at 12mm, I am now coming to the end of my 2WW :2ww and should test on Tuesday, dont think it has worked though as i have been getting my symptoms for my AF since last Wednesday. I have read that it isnt uncommon for IUI to not work first time, any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated xxx

Hi there Kerry and welcome - you are definatly on the right Thread.

This is my first IUI too so im not too sure what to expect either. I dont test til Friday and so far ive had no symptoms apart from Friday when i felt like i was going to get my AF but now it keeps coming and going so really not sure whether its my AF or just the tablets!! they say they are all very simular so hoping for you that its just the tablets and you get your BFP on Tuesday.

Magic and Julz have started the trend for the BFP's so lets hope there are lots more to come.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend

A huge (and belated) welcome to Kelly and Kerry! I hope that you will both feel very comfortable and happy here on the IUI boards
Kelly - you are most definitely in the right place.
Don't read too much into the AF symptoms as early Pg symptoms can be exactly the same as AF symptoms - it's enough to drive you batty!
There have been a few ladies with BFP's on the first IUI so it is not impossible...

Ive had an impatient day and nearly did a test tonight but my DH talked me out it - 4 days to go and it feels like its forever away...arghhhhhhh!!Hopefully tomorrow wont feel like the longest day ever - part of my problem is that i finish my job next week and so i have no work so nothing to keep me pre-occupied.

Hello,

I'm so sorry to hear that Spooky lady- next time will be your time, sending you a big hug. Take care of yourselves and you'll come back strong ready for July.
Kerry- welcome and good luck for today's testing!
JLC- hope you 're managing to wait- not too long now, try and keep positive !

I've been for my scan 16mm, 11mm and 10mm follies so won't be too long now before my insemination- maybe end of the week. My clinici like them to be about 17 which seems smaller than other people's clinincs- but I'm not going to worry about it. They know better than me! I had a lady training to scan this morning and it was v uncomfortable, makes me realise how good my normal ladies are! I'm sure she'll be good when she trained though and it'll be useful for the clinc to have a few more scanners!!

Take care everyone

IUI Chatter

Hi there girls

Thank you so much for your welcome messages.

Well today was my testing day and sadly it was a :BFN: although i still haven't got my AF.

Hi there JLC, you mentioned about you taking tablets for your IUI, wot are these for? I had an injection each day for a week before insemination then had my scan then took my pregnyl injection, had my insemination the day after and thats it until my pg test 2 weeks later!!!

I've also got a cervix that points downwards, i spoke to the nurse today to ask her if this affects TTC and she says it doesnt as the [zx151] always find their way - has anyone else had experience on this.

Anyway we are going for #2 IUI in June, give myself a month off and hopefully me and DH can be at it like rabbits this month :teehee:

Hi there ladies

Sorry to hear about your BFN Kerry - you have done so well to get today without testing. Enjoy your month off and good luck for June - fingers crossed for your BFP. I took viagra for days 1-16, then asperin, cyclogest and predisdone from days 17 to now. (predisdone is one the sterioids for immune issues). ieydidnt have clomid or injections as i ovulate ok and in the past ive had OHSS from this so we tried without - netherlesss i only 1 posibly 2 follies this month.

Good news KTB on your follies ,sounds like you are all systems go and will be on the 2WW before you know it. Lots of PMA your way for your insemination.

Hope all the other lovely ladies are doing ok

Hi Girls

Thank you for your reply JLC, i too ovulate okay, the only reason i had injections was becos it was part of the whole IUI process, i think the injections were called gonadotropin (hCG).

Although i have always ovulated okay, a couple of years ago the consultant put me on clomid and i too the same as you over stimulated.

Good luck for this week, is it Friday?

Katiebee - good luck hunny fingers and toes crossed for you and JLC xxxx

Hi kerry

I think next time i may ask for the injections as i only got one follie this month and would prefer to give myself a better chance. I did cheat and did a test this morning as my DH was going on holiday (its 12DPO) and it was a BFN - i know i need to wait til Friday for it be definate but wasnt feeling very confident about it anyhow so it was no suprise.

Kelly- Jay - hows things with you?

Katiebee - sorry i just relised i called you KTB and not katiebee in my email yesterday - big sorrys - i was getting myself all confused :o)
