Any one used Care Nottingham?

Hell Ladies. We are just starting our ivf process. Only at GP level so far but have been referred to Care Nottingham. Have any of you been here?
I actually found them while doing some research but my GP has had to refer us as we want to egg share. XXXXXXXXXX

Hi Krissy, I am at CARE Notts for my this cycle. I found them friendly and approachable. They try to make the process as smooth as possible.

Thanks for your reply. So nervous & excited yet I don't know what to expect. ?( I have spoken to some of the staff there. & they seem really nice. I went to my GP last week (New as we have just moved house) She didn't really offer any info infact I had to tell her that I'd found a clinic. Follow up appointment today , I hope she has done some research this time! I know I have to have blood tests but what comes next? Sorry to be a pain in the bum  xxx

I guess your GP can refer you there after you have had blood tests. We went there privately as I wanted myself immune tested. My previous 3 ICSI's were at Leicester. If you are referred to CARE Notts you might be referrred to one of their consultants. They have many consultants. I guess they might give you a choice of which consultant to choose. Care have good success rates. The other clinic in Notts is Nurture.

Hi 4leafclover, we have our first consulatation at care leicester next monday after spending 2.5 unsuccessful years in the NHS system - would love to hear how you are getting on. Are they good at giving you info as NHS were rubbish! Also, do they take into account your wishes or do they tell you what is best? Do you know if they are willing to transfer 2 embies as NHS had a policy that only 1 could be transferred? Sorry for all the questions!

Me - 32
DH - 31
IUI x 4
IVF x 2 (one abandoned)
FET x 1
12 embies on ice - hopefully one of them will work....soon!

Hi Ladies

Havent been on here in ages.
But received a FZ News PM so came on for a nosey :innocent:
I had ICSI @ Care Notts last june/july nad had 2 Blastocysts put back in on our !st cycle & got a BFP!!!! yey
DD was born April this year.
They prefer to put one back in but i asked the success rates comparing having 1 transferred and 2 & it was much higher having 2 put back in so thats what we did.
Found the whole treatment to be FANTASTIC and care i received was second to none.
I have no problems recommending them as i think they were so understanding and we were treated like people wanting a miricle not a number like they sumtimes make u feel on the NHS (like a burden IYSWIM?)
I saw a different cons depending on which days our appt was, but if u just wanted to see 1 for consultant im sure they would work around it.
We saw George Ndukwe before EC as i had so many eggs (but not OS) as he specialised in Blastocyst Transfers and knew alot more them than the others (think i had to have more than 9 embies of a certain size if i remember rightly?)
EC (George) & ET Maha Ragunath (lady) for me was 2 different people too, but hey ho we got our miricle so guess it didnt matter who we saw, they were all fantastic!
If any1 wants any more info please PM me & ill try and reply asap.
Their bullitin board was fab support too throughout my treatmemt (covers all Care centres not just Nottingham) & i have made 2 close friends from it who both BTW hav had success too.
My Cycle Buddy had her DS 2 weeks and an hour exactly after me & another lady is due xmas eve

Anyway im waffling
Good Luck Ladies
Sending you some babydust

My first cycle with Care Leicester was a success. We had 2 blasts put back and now I am 4 months pregnant with twins!!!! We are so very excited. I agree with Clarin Care were absolutely fantastic we just wish we didn't stick with the NHS for 2 year before taking the plunge to go to Care. I would highly recommend them - it's worth every penny!

Best of luck all xx

i too am at CARE under the care of Dr George Ndwuke. They are all really lovely there and communicative. I have just had my review with the dr, we opted for a phone review as I live in Italy. The dr on the initial conultation was so in depth with his explanation of problems and this is despite me having had this procedure already 5 times...he could have just assumed that I knew all the basics and cut the appointment down. But he didn't he went to great lengths to ensure I understood the reason behind every test. I chose CARE Notts as I have opted to do the ARRAY CGH.... It will all be starting in my december cycle. I feel very very positive and very very excited!!! Those are just my experiences with CARE and so far they are all good!

Hello Ladies

This is my first IVF/ICSI and im currently under the care if Ehab Kelada - got our next consultation on the 7th - this thursday- were pretty much ready to go, just getting the finances together etc!

I had CMV blood tests, karotype, lots of things to test me but its just my partners infertility that is a major issue so we are having icsi...

Ellie - thats a beautiful doggy you have there... a siberian husky?

I have a year old siberian husky bitch called kyoto, she is white but almost looks the spit of your picture in terms of posture, hehe.

I live right on the leicestershire/nottinghamshire border near loughborough! anybody else a local to the clinic.

I discharged from my last clinic before starting treatment as i didnt feel very cared for but its a different story at care, they are so lovely! xxx

Hi KTF!
i also find them totally lovely a Care. I have nothing but good things to say about them so far. In all depts from Finance, to admin, to nurses...all brilliant and really good at getting back to me with my queries, of which i have loads!
I am not local, far from it. I am in Italy but when I come over I will be staying fairly locally. I will be around sheffield/worksop way staying at my cousins. I am heading over on Wednesday. OMG that is the day after tomorrow!!! I am a little sad as I have to leave without my dh and dd. They will be following me over on Monday, but still 5 days without my dd...makes me sad! Oh well I am doing this for her. For her not to be an only child.
How come I can't see any pics of dogs???
Gotta run, hubby is just leaving for work but will hopefully catch up with you all later!

Hello there!!!

I'm at CARE Nottingham too! Just found this thread and thought i would say hello!

Had IVF before at my local hospital, and was disappointed with the treatment/care i recieved there and CARE Nottingham came highly recommended.

So far, my experiences there have been great. Ive had a lot of problems (an ops) with ovarian cysts and at times, have not been charged for scans and follow ups at CARE do to them finding more cysts each time. Im under the care of Ken Dowell who has actually called me on a Saturday evening from his mobile phone to offer me advice!!!! So different from the treatment received previously!!!

So now, feeling much more optimistic under CARE Notts. Hopefully this is the one....... xfingers

Nice to see another CARE goer, I was also let down badly by our hospital, the leicester royal, and so we moved to care, and have been amazed by them every step of the way!

Im also under Ken Dowell and Ehab Kelada :)

Fab story Eeyore! thanks!

10/10 for CARE Nottingham! Just had my ET and we can honestly say that we couldn't find a single fault with anything during the whole treatment cycle!

Would definately (and will) recommend them to anyone looking for a clinic and will continue to use them in the future! (but hopefully not for at least 9 months or so) xfingers xfingers xfingers
