Follicular Count/AMH

Hi I am hoping that someone can answer this question. I had my AMH taken a while ago but they never done the internal follicular scan thingy, we are now paying private as we are sick of the NHS waiting list. My AMH was 2.9 which I know is low, by our new chosen clinic specialises in low AMH. I had my follicular count done yesterday as part of the AMH test and I only have 2 on one side and 3 on the other, making 5 in total. This is really bad isnt it? Does that mean that when I start stimming etc that i will always only have 5 follicles or can more appear? I dont understand the process can some kind person please explain it to me before i go mad I can stop crying :bawl:

Many thanks xx

Oh angel mouse, first of all:
:hugs:
The follicle count is done to estimate how well you will respond to treatment. It's not as straight forward matter of 5 follicles = 5 eggs, it doesn't work like that. You do have a lower count, which means you'll be started off on a higher dose of stimulation drugs than someone who has a higher count.
But remember, this is all about getting a few high quality eggs from you. This is not about getting a kazillion immature eggs that won't fertilise.
Wishing you lots of luck,
M
