Protein Shakes

Hi,
Just wondering what anyone knows or thinks about taking protein shakes before treatment? I am going to be having the intralipids infusion during stimms and wondered if there would be any benefit to me starting protein shakes too. I have noticed that a lot of people that say they took these shakes have BFP's! Could it be just a coincidence???? Also, if I do take them, will they make me put weight on? I really can't afford to put any weight on..... I am going for my last treatment so want to give myself the best possibility for my BFP. Also any recommendations on quantity, brand etc??
Thanks

Hi hun

I know this might be a bit late for you in terms of the beginning of tx, but someone else might have a read!!

I've actually put my DH on these as part of a reduced carb eating plan. (he has no choice!!) They have helped him stay super full and lose a good deal of body fat (combined with exercise). I hate shakes myself but I add the protein powder to yoghurts and porrigde to up the protein content and lower the GI of the food, just make sure its not full of sugar! I did this last tx cycle as I desperately needed to give my follicles a major boost half way through stimms - and by golly something worked for them!!

In terms of calories a full portion made with water comes in at about 220 cals so a really good snack mid morning or afternoon with an apple.

good luck hun! xxx
