Bradford IVF

Firstly i want to apologise if i get this wrong, its my first day on this forum and havent been on one before so kind of a newbie. Basically wanted to ask if anyone knows or has an opinion on my situation. Myself and my partner have been trying for children for around 7yrs with no luck. We have been tested extensively and nothing has come up for both of us. Now at Bradford all that they have said is that it is a possibility that it is due to my weight as there is no other factor. Now they told me i have to loose 3stone in weight until they even think of giving me IVF treatment but there is no waiting list. I have struggled with my weight all my life but over the last 4yrs i have lost aroudn 3stone in weight and kept it off. I weighted 13st 8lbs when i went to my specialist. I know weigh 12st 5lbs, and i am still trying. However i find it frustrating that they will not help me other then a dietition to support the weight loss, they tell me i can have my 2cyles asap without a wait but as soon as i get down to by 3st. However they also told me if i went private that this weight amount would be less. So is it the fact that they want me to be a healthy weight as they say or is it that if i pay for it i can have more of a leverage?

Basically what im wanting to know is that is this happend to other people, how have you coped or got through it, and if i did go private would i still have the same issues or would they actually make me loose weight but less compared to the NHS. I apologise for going on but ive been through hell over the last 5yrs initially trying to get my husband to go for test, then the gap between testing and retesting, when i finally thought i had got somewhere with a specialist they cut me off at the door.

hope you can help

Im sorry i cant help with regard to definate answers to your situation, however, when you pay private things seem to go the way you want them to and they treat you so differently!! (recent experience with hubby's problems has proven this and if we could afford to we would go through the whole process privately)
I cant even imagine how you must be feeling with how you have been treated at Bradford. In my opinion if you lost 3 stone you would be tiny!!
Im sure someone will pop in and give you advice on how to go about resolivg this issue, In the mean time good luck with TTC.
