i have my own donor but leeds wont let me use her so im moving.
she is CMV + and im - you see, leeds wont work with that.

very strange that some will let you and others wont.

Where are you planning on going?

I'm just about to have my first consultation on 15 Oct at Jimmy's, have used them before and have a gorgeous 10 month old so we are now trying for a brother or sister. Not looking forward to the slog of it all but feel less presure this time as I'm lucky enough to already have a son but I guess that will all change when we get started again.

Lizzy have you had to pay for IVF then?
Am I right in thinking you will have gotten your first one free, then paid for the other 2, one of which gave you your son? :innocent:

We got first two goes free as the first one was abandoned part way through they let us start again, then we paid for our third go which resulted in our son. We will be paying for this too when we get going and hoping we will be lucky like the last time as we couldn't afford many more goes after this, saying that I'm sure we would find the money from somewhere as it's hard to stop when you get going. I know if it hadn't of worked last time we would of gone on and on and on but having my son now I don't want him to do without so trying to not be quite as desperate as before.

Yea I see your point, getting 1 baby is a godsend and muchly wanted, but if it gets to the point where baby no.2 isn't happening, you become grateful for the child you already have don't you?

Do you mind me asking how much IVF was for you in Calderdale then hun? Just wanting to prepare really if we choose to move back this way :innocent:

My treatment was at St James' in Leeds, we had IVF with ICSI and I can't remember the exact cost but with drugs it came to between £4500 and £5000, I will know better when I go next week and shoud get a new price list.

Hi

I am at Jimmy's too. i have had 3 goes there. I am about to start my fourth frozen transfer but I know they are cutting down on cycle because they are moving after Christmas to Seacroft hospital. If this go fails we are moving to Care so we can have some egg screening due to my age.Jimmy's wont be offering this even when they move. I think we have paid around £4500 for icsi. So far we have spent about £12,500 because I have to have frozen transfer because I have had Ohss twice

I already have 2 sons but Dp has none and we have found it is harder to get off the rollercoaster of tx than to stay on it.

It's the hope thing isn't it. All the time your trying, there's a tiny glimmer of hope, but as soon as you say, thats it, no more, then it really is the end, and thats why we all find it harder to stop that carry on

Hi,

I've only had investigations so far but I wondered if anyone else had been seeing him and what they thought of him.

I've had conflicting information from him - ie - after my lap he said I should be able to conceive naturally, 6 weeks later he told me I wouldn't and needed to be referred for IVF so was wondering about a 2nd opinion.

It's on the NHS so I don't pay anything - I will have to pay if we go down IVF route though as hubby already has kids.
Keep smiling... One day everything will fall into place.

Sorry I can't help with Bingley hun.
Is this your closest hospital?
Would it be worth going somewhere further away but more reputable if you're worried ?(
