Hi there,

Would anyone mind if I join the chat? :hello:

I had EC on 24th July for first ICSI but I am a high risk of OHSS due to number of eggs so ET has been delayed - gutted but understand why. Just wishing the time away now until FET! Hospital are keeping a close eye on me and so far so good re OHSS. Back again for another check-up tomorrow, and back to work.

I've to wait for my AF this month then start DRing in September for ET in October. How am I to stop myself from going mad with impatience until FET?! :pullhair:

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hi Lynsey,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

They collected 27 eggs. 17 were suitable for injecting and 13 fertilised. My hospital have a protocol that anyone who has over 20 eggs is considered to be at risk of OHSS and therefore they will delay ET.

How many eggs did you get?

Good to know someone else has experienced the same situation. Great you were able to start so soon! So sorry to hear about your BFN though. You will get your BFP next time!

I think it's probably just cos my AF is on it's way but I'm feeling very low just now and dreading going back to work tomorrow. Did you feel like that?

Aww bless.
My clinic reckoned 25 follies or more was over stimmed I had that after 6days of stimms! Ended up with over 50 follies!!
Had 31 follies taken which was 29eggs 24 were suitable and 18fertilised!!
I did end up with OHSS, spent few days in hospital, but it took me quite a while after EC to admit something was wrong! I was holding fluid everywhere it was awful!! I actually tried going back to work a few days after EC they sent me home after a couple of hours cos I was in so much pain!!

I was devastated when they decided to do a freeze all, but soon realised it was for the best.

Morning Ladies

Did we all have a good weekend? Well I am all excited about going away on my holidays on Wednesday now :) :) Whoop whoop. Then when I get back it should only be 2 weeks until I start my AF and back into the humdrum of treatment again :)

Well I had a very entertaining weekend. Up here in the far north. We get a little board in our village so on Friday night we had a bed race round all the local pubs :) very entertaining to watch. And then on Saturday we had a three legged, fancy dressed, pub crawl, quiz!!!!! All very good fun. Me and my friend dressed as Swine Flu. (there is a prize for most contraversial costumes) I was a nurse and she was a pig dressed up in bright pink NHS scrubs.... We had a fab time. Unfortunatly we were pipped at the post by our friends who were Sunday sailings to Stornoway. They had made a fab big wooded boat they were walking around in and one was dressed as a captain and on as a minister with a placard saying respect the sabbath... They were just fab :)

Aussie Girl welcome and I hope your next treatment works for you hun,

How you feeling lynz?

How is everyone else doing?

hey esha that sounds like a thing they do in my Mums village once a year called wacky races!!! everyone gets water bombed and god knows what while their racing they have to down a drink at each pub too.

Im feeling a bit brighter today but not great! Plan on going back to work tomorrow and see how i go!! Think today im just going to chill out on the sofa with plenty of fluids, FZ and facebook and the TV!

Have a fab holiday!!

Wow Lynsey, that is alot of follicles and eggs! Just sorry that you did end up with OHSS - really does not sound very nice. You have a great number of snow babies though. Sorry to hear you are not feeling too well today, hope you feel better soon. :hugs:

I had another check up today and things are looking better, back again for another check up on Friday. Praying the dreaded OHSS continues to stay away. xfingers

It does sound strange. Iv heard of them starting DR on day 2 and on day 21.

No not a SET for mr this time I'm taking the plunge and going for DET!!!! we've talked about it more and if of works and we get twins it basically means HUGE compromises made and there would be no way of me returning to work but I guess that all bridges we will have to cross if it comes to it, if I end up doing bar work or something a few evenings a week then that's what I'll have to do. at the end of the day we need to maximize our chances of getting our dream.

Hi everyone - mind if I join you?

I've only just noticed the FET folder - have been lurking quietly in the IVF folder, wondering why nobody is talking about FET - silly me!!

We have three hatching blastocysts in the freezer, and I'm on day 13 of down regging (double dose Buserelin) and I have a scan and bloods tomorrow to see if I can start taking HRT for our frozen cycle.

Am I alone in feeling a bit 'removed' from it all as it's a FET this time? The embryo transfer is so much like IUI so it will feel like nothing has happened, and I just can't get excited or hopeful! Maybe that is healthy - I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't succeed? Also, DH has nothing at all to do this time, which seems very strange!

Good luck to everyone going through FET!

Hi all

Hope you don't mind me dropping by. I'm new to this whole FET process. We got our BFN from our first ever ICSI on 17th July. We've got our co-ordination meeting on 4th September and then start in October/November. I have worked out day 21 will be 2nd OCtober so joping that we can start then as I'll go mad if I have to wait until November.

Made a decision to Accu with this Tx as I kept putting it off last time has anyone tried this option?

Now my big debate is whether to have SET and DET. OK here's my problem when I had ICSI we got 5 good embies so I knew the 4 could be frozen so I didn't have a problem. However this time I have a problem if two successfully defrost and we only have one put back and we get a BFN then I will always think what if? DH is really against having DET because of the risk to my health conversation ended. How do I resolve this because one of us has to back down or change our opinion and usually it's me that backs down.

Hi Pushoz,

Good to see you again (I was in July Jackpots too).

Deciding whether to go for SET or DET is a difficult decision. Personally, we have decided to go for DET. We decided a while ago. I would beat myself up too much if we only went for SET and it didn't work. I know there are risks with DET but we want the best chance possible and if we end up with twins, then we would be more than happy. Maybe a good idea for you and DH to sit down together and write a list of pros and cons for both? ?(

hi there and welcome!!!!
sorry about your BFN Pushoz. I had ICSI with EC in March stopped because like tiggs was at risk of OHSS, and ended up getting it, only fairly mild but bad enough, then got my BFN 25 May. Have my next ET 25th August!!!!

Last FET we only went for SET and i did really regret it after id had it done. but we had our reasons for doing it. This time we are going for DET without a doubt, yes if it works huge comprimises will have to be made, but we will cross those bridges when/if we get there!!!

Hi ladies
can I join you please?

We had IVF in April which resulted in a BFN  we had 5 embies, 2 transferred and 3 frozen.
we have taken a break over the last 4 months, had a nice holiday and allowed ourselves to heal mentally and physically!
so, after a long chat with DH last night we both agreed that we felt ready to try again, so here I am :D

excited but scared!! I need to call the clinic and book in for a hysteroscopy, the con wants to do one to rule out any polps or other things which could be affecting implantation, as I have PCOS my hormones can be a bit whaccked out and he says this can lead to all sorts of build ups in the uterus, so hence, I am going in for the op and then we will be having a FET cycle very soon

has anyone here had an hysteroscopy before a FET?

Look forward to chatting to you all and learning more about FET - Im pretty clueless at the moment ?(

good luck to you all xxx

Hi everyone - it's good news in that the scan showed no cysts and I'm reasonably down regulated so (unless blood test shows otherwise) I start the HRT tomorrow!

Pushoz - re. SET/DET, we had to have SET for our first fresh cycle as we got top quality blastocysts and I'm below 37 and that's the rule in our area. This was fine with us as it would have been our choice anyway.

For this forthcoming frozen cycle, we have decided to have SET again. This is because we have three more top quality blastocysts in the freezer, and from our clinic's results in 2007, 50% of successful DETs resulted in twins or more! We feel this is very high risk indeed particularly as ours are v good hatching blastocysts so more likely to be identical twins anyway), and the chances of conception are only slightly lower with SET. I am happy with the decision at the moment, though I know we are unusual in opting for SET second time round! We have 'hedged our bets' with the clinic, in that they will initially only defrost one embryo, and if it's fine we will have that one and save the remaining two. If the first one perishes they will defrost both of the remaining two, but we will still only have SET and the other (if healthy) will be left to perish. We didn't see the point of keeping just one on ice.

They are difficult decisions and you have to do what's best for you as a couple. It does sound like you and your DH need to talk a little more though, so you are both happy with your decision.

Sun flower ~ welcome over to the FET thread hun!!! i have everything crossed for you!!! Am soooo glad your going for it again!

I know what i said about DET and SET yesterday, we are very lucky and we are funded for tx at the moment, but my clinic dont include blasts with it, if they did we would probably only go for SET........If that all makes sense!!

hi gang!

Well my official schedule arrived today (with £120 bill for doctors fees with it!) Dr is going ahead on the 25th august providing AF doesnt arrive in the meantime. it will be CD 31 and AF has been arriving around CD 30-35 so we shall have to see!! he has started me later as he is on holiday the 2 months after (during when my ET would be) so he is being kind after all!!

platinum welcome aboard!! Are you on verity too???

sunflower i remember obsessing with you over follies, EC etc earlier this year. I promise you FET is soooooo much easier. the awful bit tho is waiting to hear if your embies survive the thaw :innocent: absolute HELL!!! LOL

Pushoz welcome aboard hun!! the Set and Det debate continues!! have you made any further decisions?? i had the same, i wanted 2 transfered and DB only wanted one. the clinic took the decision out of my hands and forced one during my fresh cycle. when it failed i couldnt get it out of my head that if id of had 2 it might of been a different story. as a result i demanded a double transfer for my FET. it really is a personal choice and i hope you can get it sorted xxx

tiggs how you doing hunny??

Bella i wondered where you had gone!! any sign of AF??

Lysney my lovely FET buddy how is HRT treating you?? transfer is coming closer and closer! im keeping everything crossed for you hun

Esha how you doing hunny??

OMG sorry if i forgot anyone. this thread has suddenly gone crazy!!!

So glad you have been given the all clear now and can look at starting your FET.

Hi all..

Gosh this thread has gone crazy! It's great!
Lynsey, if all goes well, you and I will be on our 2ww together. I think we had it together last time as well?...

My AF is going to arrive any second, which scares me. If it comes today or tomorrow it means that my day of transfer will fall on a Saturday or Sunday and my clinic isn't open on a Sunday..Then what?.. I can not go another month waiting around... Why can nothing be straight forward?!....urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

xx

Hi all,

Wow, this is getting busy, and exciting!

Good you can get a relaxant this time Lynsey.

Hopefully your hospital can sort out the most suitable date for your FET Bella. Don't see why they can't just do Sunday if that's best for you. ?(

Gnioto, I think it's common to get sore boobs when stimming, I did, but you're not stimming of course so must be something else??? ?(

Hope everyone is well.

I got my AF..............Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....Or Yay?!?!? i am confused.

I spoke to my new clinic and they have basically told me that if i surge on Wed or Thurs 26th or 27th then we can't transfer this month. Which would make it day 14 or day 15. Now in the past I have surged on day 15 but before my last loss I was having 28-29 day cycles and they are a lil longer now at 30-31 days. This one is 31 days. So.... I am hoping and praying that I surge on day 16. Please pray for me girls. Because if not I will have to wait even longer and I dont think I could handle that.
