Air bubbles

Please help we're on our third day of injections but I'm noticing when I'm putting the liquid in the needle I'm getting more and more air bubbles and I don't know why. This morning I nearly had to pull back to 1ml before I could get all the bubbles out and get 0.5ml in the needle.

I keep tapping and then drawing more back. I must be going wrong somewhere.

Could be you're drawing the meds up a little too fast, try to draw back a little slower and see if that makes any difference.

Pushoz,

Don't worry, don't panic and don't rush. First things first and that's if you don't inject at the same minute every day its fine so take your time.

As Grace has said sometimes we do it too fast, I remember my first couple of injections I worried like mad that I had taken them 5 mins earlier or later then the previous day but I have since learnt that its really not important.

Take the liquid slowly in the syringe and flick it so the bubbles dispurse at the top, if this doesn't work then just start again.

Good luck with the next one, and don't forget I'm only around the corner although I've never done one jab, I would have to send my DF :snigger:

Hi hun,

Sometimes I found that some of the plungers of the syringes weren't pushed down all the way before I drew up the liquid.

Also if you tilt the bottle of liquid at a slight angle and then line the angle of the drawing up needle up to the side of the vial and pull up slowly that should help. It's normal to get some air bubbles so don't worry too much!

Thanks all for the help and especially to Kimtia for offering your DF. Will try it a bit slower tomorrow and also angleing the needle.

Well the injection went better this morning. DH set the needle up but he did it considerably slower than I did so I think that's the secret.
