High temp 14 dpo

I started spotting yesterday (13 dpo) and my temperature dropped to the coverline. Then this morning it rose quite high, but I still haven't started my period properly as I would have done by now. I kept waking up for an hour before I took my temperature feeling really sick. Could the nausea have caused my temperature to rise like that? I don't think the waking up would have caused it, as I've done that before and not had a temp rise.

Since posting that message earlier this morning, I am bleeding slightly more and it is red, but still only light.

Also, I got a faint line on a test this morning. So with the high temp and the faint line, I would have thought I was pregnant, but the bleeding is confusing things.

Hi Cori

Being awake for a while before you take your temps can have an effect on the result, which is why you have to take your temperature as soon as you wake up. But with the positive HPT it does look like you could be pg, sometimes women do have spotting around the time when their af would be due, I've had the same thing happen to me twice. Or unfortunately it could be that you were pregnant and the pregnancy isn't viable.

I really hope its good news and please let me know how you get on.

Thanks. It's kinda like a light period. And several hours later, the line has disappeared from the test, so I don't know what to think now. I'm going to do a FR test in the morning whether my temp has dropped or not.

What do you mean? The line has gone from the test that you took a picture of?

Yes, the test line disappeared after a few hours. It was very faint to start with though.

Hi Cori,

you should only read the test results within the timeframe given on the instructions and ignore what happens afterwards
Did you do another test this morning?

Hi Jensqui, yes I did a FR this morning and got no line at all. Also, my temp dropped and I now have a medium flow. Thanks.

hi there, sorry to hear this, I've used these cheap internet tests before and had unreliable and inconsistent resullts. When I had a positive on this test, it dried out stronger for me, and at 14 days PO it was fairly dark by then. Are you still having bloods done? if its not meant to be this time then fingers crossed for next time. Thinking of you xx

Thank you Tracy.

Do you think it could have been a chemical pregnancy or just a false positive? I just thought it was weird how my temperature shot up so much the day after I started spotting.
