No eggs fertilised, but other eggs now mature

We got 12 eggs yesterday at egg collection, but only 4 were mature. None fo these fertilised.

But the clinic said the other eggs are now mature, so they are going to inject those..

I've never heard of this before.. would the eggs just mature themselves or would they mature them in the lab in some way?

Realistically, anyone any idea on chances? I haven't seen any similar posts (could have missed them) and would rather understand our chances with this...

Anyone help?

Sorry, Bouncy. I hope you are alright. Its a dreadful news. I read it somewhere the labs can let the eggs to mature for a while. Last time I had treatment at CARE notts. I only had 2 mature out of 8 I think. But they did not tell me about my other immature eggs then and wasn't aware they waited for the others to be mature. But do not worry, they know what they are doing. I hope they fertilise now and become beautiful embies. Fingers crossed.

They tell me they didn't do anything to the eggs, literially left them overnight to mature? So unsure if they did do IVM.. however they did say the culture they were in makes the egg shells hard which is why 4 eggs didn't survive the injection procedure.
