A mix up of results! a year wasted! can anyone help with questions about male hormone injections?

Hi im a newbie .....best wishes to evryone that is going through this horrible time!

After 4 years of TTC consisting of:
2x SA confirming Azoospermia
An FSH level of 26.3 and LH of 10.2
physical examination confirming 'smallish testicles'
a testes ultrasound, which saw no blockages, etc
a chromosone test, which came back normal ...... After all of this my DH was diagnosed with testicular failure based on the elevated FSH level.
We were advised to go down the route of SSR with a very low chance of sperm retrieval! We therefore had a pre-op appointment today to discuss the SSR and sign any forms etc.

Something inside me(I dont know why) was telling me to have my DH re-test his FSH level. Thinking we were probably clutching at straws as one last check before the SSR he went to the doctors and got it re-tested! To our amazement it came back at 1.5!!! as a pose to 26.3 originally!!!! To double check this the doctor wanted to check again, which he also re-tested his LH and serum testosterone. the results were as follows:
FSH-0.5
LH-0.2
ST- 3.3
Obviously these are dramatically different to the original FSH that they were basing his testicular failure on and thus his SSR!!!!!
We took these results to our appointment at St Marys this morning and the consultant was also shocked at the difference in results said that this completely changes the diagnosis to pituitary failure! She said this can hopefully be corrected with hormone injections called HCG i think!! and another one which in cant remember! She also said that my DH original results must have been mixed up with someone else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooo angry that this has happened and that they have wasted a year of our time and that my DH very nearly went through SSR because of their mix up!! if it wasnt for my gut feeling we would never have found this out!!! i really feellike someone from above was telling me to get that done again!!!
Anyway even though i am very angry i am also very hopeful now as obviously this diagnosis bring us much more hope than the original one did! we now have to wait to see another sepcialist to get some pituitary tests done and all being well my DH will then be bale to start the hormone injections, etc!
I am wondering if anybody has been through the same thing and the hormone injections have worked???????

Sorry for th long post..just thought i would tell my story......Best wishes to everyone xxxxx
