Great news Louis2! Hope you get some good news Gemmab and good luck for Thursday Kiwimaya
Alibird, I've just ov'd too so will join you in the 2WW!

Been to GP's today, off for an internal scan, then referral to consultant. Good news is that my wonderful DH has agreed to go to the docs for his tests, I'm so pleased!

RM, we seem to be so in sinc with our cycles. Glad things are moving forward and DH has agreed to SA, it is difficult for them but not half as invasive as our tests.

Ahh! Gemma, my little boy is 1 on the 14th, yours is not far behind! He looks like a sweetheart. E is a happy cheeky little chap, very excited for his birthday. Any news from the consultant??

Good luck with the 2ww Alibird and Runningmum. I think we've timed well this month - probably one of the best tries after E's born but it is really strange ttc with a different mindset, after all the years of heartache. V refreshing but a little nervous. We use a fertility monitor as I got fed up over analysing things that you have to interpret yourself. I've also stopped breastfeeding now for 2 months so think my hormones are now more of an even keel, though doubt DP would agree!

When will you be having an internal scan Runningman? And has DH booked for those tests?? After all the tests and interventions and child birth I'm cruel and have limited sympathy for DP and what he was required to do for the IVF!

Wow Louis. Great results from the scan. Hope you're not finding it to nervewracking. How are you with the injections??

Yes, we're off to the clinic tomorrow. We're not telling anyone about the FET because with the one frostie chances are small and it was a bit difficult managing other peoples expectations with the IVF. For example I can remember trying to explain to my mum that I could not tell people I was pregnant at ET when she asked me in an excited 'I'm going to be a grandparent'.

Hey ya'all, any news today Gem?

Louis2, are you jabbing am or pm?

Kiwimaya, good luck with consultant today.

Well, my cousin called in yesterday (we are very close, like sisters) and anounced she is pg with #2. I am very happy for her as I know she wanted another with her new partner but they weren't trying and she isn't very happy as they aren't even living together as they are in the process of looking for somewhere out of the area. I can honestly say that I did not get that familiar sick feeling that I used to get and was genuinely happy but I did think 'I wish it was me'. This is the 3rd announcement in the last 2 weeks and I have a feeling we are going to get a 4th this weekend. It feels like an epidemic :snigger: Maybe this means that I have accepted the fact that Will will be our only child, I am sad for him but at the moment I feel ok about that. This is completely fresh ground and I don't quite know what to think or do, ttc has been such a major part of our life for so long, how do I stop?

Morning girls,

Today is day one if stimms! I'm working late though today so as I have to do the injection between 6-8 my dh will have to bring it to my work for me! We don't have a fridge at work, excited today!!

I've got to remember to prime the pen then jab! I don't mind the injections really I've dine so many before, although these are particularly big as I'm doing 450 gonal f so it's not a quick jab, well worth it to bring us our much wanted baby x

gemmab - sorry you're still waiting, perhaps you should go to your clinic and refuse to leave until they tell you the answer!

Today is stimming day! You won't believe what I did this morning! I was told to only sniff one this morning and one tonight instead of normal 2 in am and 2 in pm. Guess what! I sniffed 2 this morning!!! so used to doing it I didn't even think! I rang the clinic and they said it was ok just only do 1 tonight.

Blimey Gemma, I can't believe how much they are mucking you around. Its not good enough, its should be a relatively straight forward question that should maybe take a few days to get a clear answer. I hope you find out one way or another after the weekend.

louis, here's hoping you only sniffed once this evening! Was it injection tonight?

Our appointment went ok I suppose. We had to take our little one with us as we both had to go and no-one knows we are back there. I was ultra conscious of all the other people waiting there. I know how hard it can be in those sort of waiting rooms with someone with a baby waiting next to you. DP waited outside with him (the clinic is in its own isolated separate building) and I beckoned him when we were called and they went straight out afterwards.

I had a scan and the consultant thinks I may have a polyp, but as I'm just post mid cycle she wants to check again in 2 weeks at the beginning of my next cycle incase she was wrong. My lining was quite thick as well. This could set us back a while if it is a polyp as it will need sorting out first - fortunately via a referral to the n.h.s.

Apart from that when do go ahead with the FET its straight on with it, no meds and no practice cycle. This will make things a lot easier, especially fitting work around and the secrecy.

I'm baking a cake tonight for my boy's first birthday on Saturday. I'm praying it works! Best go and check its not burning.

Take care

Glad to hear things are moving forward louis2!

I'm having problems getting appointments too gemmab. Having finally convinced DH to go to the GP for refferal, they don't do appointments at the moment, you have to phone between 8.30 and 9 and they will give try and fit you in, first two morning's I tried they had nothing but emergency appointments and the next day they could only offer me times he couldn't do.....hopefully I'll have more luck next week!

Happy birthday to your DS kiwimaya, hope the cake turned out well!

Am fed up of the 2WW already, am going on holiday a week today and know that AF is going to arrive and spoil things! Also have an outbreak of spots, very annoying!

Good luck to all you ladies with your various stages of tx, I am here to say goodbye as I have come to the decision that TTC #2 is now over for us. With my hand on my heart can honestly say that it now feels enough for me, my journey is over.

I would like to wish you all success and happiness for the future and hope and prey that you all your dreams come true. I will pop in once in a while to check how you are all doing but feel that I need to leave FZ for a while at least, while I get my head around leaving this rollarcoaster behind, after it being such a amjor part of our lives for so many years.

Love to you all blokiss

Hi Everyone
Wow - we've had a busy weekend with our little one turning 1. It felt like Christmas in the summer. Lovely day and E was just so happy throughout. Bless him.

Ali Bird - that must have been such a difficult decision to make. You've got to really mean it and mentally that's a scary place so I can't blame you for needed time out from fertilityzone. I wish you all the best for the future. xxx

Gemma, great news that there's some left. I'm with you with the healthy eating. I've been just not caring this past year what with all the abstinence before E was conceived and born. I'm starting at the beginning of next AF. There's been an unbelievable amount of cake round here recently there's been no point!
Sorry to hear that you had a polyp but reassuring to hear that it was sorted and you felt better afterwards. We've been so busy that I haven't thought about but today I started to do the usual google searches and feel a little bit stressed about it. It still needs to be confirmed - going back next week - but I have a feeling that the consultant was right.... But i'm sure it will be fine, its just another hurdle to get over so getting myself up and dusting myself off - should be used to that by now! Would be nice if something could run simply.

Oh, Nicole - I lived in Leeds until 2 years ago! What clinic are you at as we had some consutlations/proceedures there? I would really recommend Dr Rutherford, and there's someone I would steer clear off!

Louis - not sure about hot water bottle - did you find out? How many to go?? When's your scan?

Not really a rant just trying to shift this pain and emptyness after yet another BFN. Yes I've had children and spent years as a single mum bringing up my dear boys, having to put up with their asshole of a father. But now I've found someone truely wonderful, who wants children with me and to be there for all of us. I would love to have the pleasure of a family life. To hear the word daddy in the house again. To go to xmas plays and sports days with someone next to me who is as proud as I am. In many ways I am so lucky and I never take that for granted. If this path we've taken comes to a dead end then I know I will always have my boys and a partner who loves me which is so much more than other people have.
No-one knows we're going through IVF as being an older mum (37) I'm fed up with hearing "are you mad?" or "why on earth do you want more kids just as you're getting rid of the ones you've got?" ...getting rid of, what a charming way of putting it.

Well I'm not mad, I do want more children and right now I feel as though I'm never again going to feel that softness of a babys skin or that wonderful smell they have as you hold them. See a scrunched up face wiping an itchy nose in my skirt or feel little arms wrap around me in precious moments.
Sorry, it turned out to be a rant after alll

Ali - I'm pleased you have made your decision, best wishes for the future!
Gemma - glad things are going to plan for you, not long to go
Mayflower - oh dear I'm sorry to hear you are fed up, people don't think before they open their mouths, just ignore them! Sounds like you have found the man of your dreams!
Kimiwaya - glad you had a lovely time for your little one's 1st birthday! I love my son's birthdays! I'm planning his party in January already!

My DH went to the GP's this week to ask for SA, the GP sent him away and said it was more likely a problem with me and that the consultant would ask for SA tests if he felt it necessary? Anyone else had this, my GP thought DH should have his tests done? Have my internal scan date for 20th Sept, so at least things are moving forward. I'm off on holiday tomorrow, fingers crossed AF doesn't arrive on Monday it would be the nicest holiday surprise!

Had my last scan today, 6 very juicy ones and some smaller ones behind that they're not sure whether they'll be big enough Wednesday for EC or not! I am going home to put on the hot water bottle and spur them little ones on!!

laugh1 All went well today. 6 lovely eggies!!!! not a drop of pain or sickness, lovely

Had a little drama as when DH did his sample he accidently put his finger in the lid whilst trying to put the lid on! So he had to do it again 1/2 hour later. However, all was good with 2nd sample and so they were off to fertilise!!!

All being well, twins will go back in on Friday! Very excited.

I don't know enough about IVF hun to say whether there's really a chance. My thoughts are though that your clinic must believe there's a chance otherwise they wouldn't have left them for another night?

As for trying again, that's a hard question isn't it? And only one you and your DH will be able to answer. For me, I knew that I just wanted to keep going until I couldn't do any more. So I did my IVF cycle just a few months after I finished my last cycle of clomid. If we hadn't been very lucky with the IVF I 'think' I would have gone again sooner rather than later. But its still all so fresh in your mind, and you need to get to the call from the clinic tomorrow before you start having to make any decisions - I hope you won't have to and that your eggs show you that miracles can happen.

x

We have been for 2 consults at bourn since this nightmare and no-one knows, possibly too high level of gonal f maybe too long down regging, maybe the antibiotics I was on i June! They can't give me a reason, maybe just a bad cycle! WE had 3 top quality blastos last time, and they messed them up by not getting them back in now they've messed my eggs up before I can get them back in :(

We are looking into a lap and dye at the mo to see why I conceived so easily 6 years ago but not since, I'm convinced there's scarring or stuff on tubes so want that sorted then hopefully we can do it ourselves. Trying to stay positive, but hard, we will try angain in a year but for now its the waiting game again :S

Sorry its taken so long to get back to you louis. I've been away and then at work.

What did they do to not get your blastos back in?? That's shocking. How frustrating that they can't give you a clear reason now?

I've heard that lap and dye's can work like that. We had one before IVF to see what was going on (had a private consultant who referred us onto his nhs list very quickly). It could help to give you some answers or help to improve chances of conception so definitely worth the try. I found it was harder being in the dark. Have you considered changing clinics?? Good luck to you.

I've been told after a follow up scan no polyp so basically have to wait now until start a cycle and ring up to get the ball rolling for an unmedicated FET. Probably going for October - have got to start eating healthier!!!

Hi cupcake, how are you feeling about saturday nervous, excited? I've just got my referral to a consultant at the hospital for 16th November 6 week wait, but i decided it was better to wait longer and see a consultant with a good reputation, don't know if that's the right decision or not....

Hi Running Mum!
It's next saturday I start d/r. and yes... I'm nervous, excited, apprehensive etc etc!! I can't wait to just get started and get on with it. I hate all the waiting around, I'm much better off when I feel I'm doing something practical. Still I have to be patient eh!!

If you feel more confident seeing the doc with the great reputation, then I agree, it's better for you. It will make you more at ease when it comes to having treatment. What hospital are you with? Do you know how long you'll have to wait?
