RE: the cost of private IVF treatment

Hi Leanne

Welcome to FZ! Was just going to post on your other thread and then saw this one pop up.

I've had one private cycle of IVF so far and it cost approx £4500, including all the drugs. It does seem to vary from clinic to clinic and it also depends on how many drugs you require but I would say this is roughly the sum you will be looking at.

If you have a look on the HFEA website you can look for clinics in your area and get informed from there.

:goodluck: with it all.

Love Gracie

my ICSI costs £3900 plus drugs (which are approx £300). IVF will be slightly cheaper than ICSI as they don't have to do the ICSI bit.

call your local IVF clinic and ask them for prices, they are quite open about these things - they have to be!

Best of luck! x

After 5 years of endo surgery, clomid, 2 x MM/C, 2 x ICSI cycles and 1 PGD cycle,
beautiful twin girls born 8th Feb 2010, we are so grateful

My clinic, ACU Sheffield, is NHS and not for profit so the rates seem to be very reasonable at £2750 per cycle all in.

Hi Leanne
I have not had private IVF (yet) but have been told by my clinic to think of £4500 as a realistic figure (including drugs).

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Hi Lea,

I have had 3 cycles of ICS, s probably more expensive, but ours cost about £5500 per go. Be aware of hidden costs such as drugs, blasto, freezing etc. You can shop around for drug prices.

Goodluck and start saving - it's a pretty expensive hobby!

hi leanne you have no signature stating your circumstances, but are you aware of egg sharing?
it could make it very cheap for you if you are the right candidate, something to investigate

Hi Ross,

We are about to start IVF ICSI again, this will be our 2nd try. I have been recieving quotes for the drugs needed and so far the cheapest i've been quoted is around $750 (please excuse my doller sign) you mentioned it cost you approx $300. Would you be so kind in letting me have the details of who supplied you that quote.

Wishing you lots of luck.

Many thanks x

Hi I'm looking into private IVF and it seems to be 4000-5000, depending on the clinic.
Good luck!

my ivf cost £4,500 inclusive of drugs, however i responded poorly to my first cycle. I then had to pay a further £2,200 for my next cycle for the long protocol (cheaper as I had paid in advance for ec & et) good luck to you on your journey

Hi Ross,

Sorry to be a pain, but as i'm new to FZ, i am really unsure what i'm doing, or anyones circumstances.

I'm also very sorry you suffered a M/M/C. I too went through this horrible experience in 2004.

My first Attempt of ICSI failed on feb 13 2009!! of all dates. we only had 6 eggs with only 1 fertilizing, so no frozen embryos.

Reading through lots of FZ members posts has been a great help, as our time is now very close to starting our 2nd cycle of ICSI, i'm hoping to be able to lean on as well as support who ever will allow me to. As i found the 1st experience very emotionally draining both mentally & physically as i'm sure everyone here will know.

Lots of luck and many thanks xx

Hi Vegemit,

I see you had a very difficult time for yrs trying for a child. However you now have a gorgeaous daughter as you say. How long did you have to wait altogether with the adoption of your little girl? I understand that if your going through fertility tx or recently have, then your not even allowed on the lists is this correct?

Many thanks x
