Pre IVF Detox??

As you can see from my tickers i am just about to start my first cycle of IVF. Im trying to keep myself calm (which so far is not working with all the waiting!) but wondered if anyone did a detox before they started a cycle and if so what did you do??

i have seen these rediculous things were you just drink water but i wouldnt stick to that lol!!

im going swimming to relax me and would love to try acupuncture or alternative therapies but cant afford to do it!!

any tips ladies??

thanks karen xx

RE: Pre IVF Detox??

Hey there

:goodluck: with your first IVF, you will be fine! I'm with you on the waiting though, it is by far the worst thing about it all.

Personally, I think as long as you are eating a healthy, balanced diet and drinking plenty of water and taking folic acid then you are doing all you can. I believe there is something also to be said for eating brazil nuts and drinking milk (if you can bear it!), it is supposed to be good for the womb lining.

Love Gracie

hi there,
i agree with Gracie, i wouldn't try anything too severe, the one time i dieted loads was my worst ever cycle, this positive one happened after just a fairly normail diet, i did up the water intake and i drink milk anyway. I also got some good multi vits and minerals which my consultant recommended
best of luck

PS - i would recommend acupuncture just before and after embryo transfer too if you can't afford a lot of sessions :)

yep, acupuncture is so relaxing, worth having a go, even just a couple of sessions as Sarah says. Basically do anything you can which you find relaxing and stress relieving. Good luck x

After 5 years of endo surgery, clomid, 2 x MM/C, 2 x ICSI cycles and 1 PGD cycle,
beautiful twin girls born 8th Feb 2010, we are so grateful
