Hi,

You start injections after AF comes, you phone the clinic on the 1st day of your AF then 2 days later you go in for a scan Tom make sure ur down reg'd then all going well you start to inject the nxt day!

But you might be different, it all depends on what protocol they put you on.

Because of my age, I am having 3 embies put back if I get them! So fingers crossed it all it all goes to plan!

I'm feeling a bit down today and have a bit of a head ache but other than that I seem to be ok, they say AF can take up to 2 weeks but I feel as though I am about to start, don't know if that's just the prostap working it's magic. :)

How are you feeling about your appointment, I was really nervous but they make you feel really welcome and calm, I have no complaints, they are all really helpful.

:goodluck: and keep us posted.

Axx

Hiya...God you are getting close Lissy.... I have my fingers crossed for you! Everything went fine, I got alittle upset at one point, the embryologist came in to discuss my hubby's sample and it wasn't too good... and I think just with the mix of emotions yesterday anyway it got all too much.. but after a quick cuppa and few hankies later I was fine!! Cannot wait just to get started now though... think it'll be around the 26th June... so a few more weeks yet!

So interested to hear all about your journey so please keep me posted... and good luck!!!!

Great news Lissy.... won't be long now!! So, I phoned the hospital on Friday to get my AMH results and was told they are 16.2 - which after internet research seems quite low, which has now got me even more worried! Anyway, I'm jsut hoping everything will be fine, and as many girls on here say.. it only takes one! Well.. keep me posted anyway, and I have everything crossed for you guys!

Hi Wantabubba,

Everyone is different, they say it an take up to 2 weeks for AF to come, mine came around 9 days later then you go in for baseline scan on day 3 of your AF, all going well you start your stimms the next day. What meds are you going to be on? I was on gonal f it was really easy, I was panicking beforehand but really don't fret!

Omg... that's really quick eh? Starting to panic alittle cause everything will be happening soon... looking forward to getting started right enough! They said I have to pick between Gonal F and Menopur... need to read up on them but I will be choosing the easiest... so that will prob be Gonal F.... So would you say approx 20 days from your prostap injection to having your eggs removed?

So, how have you been feeling, are you stressing... is it dragging? x

Yeh 20 days + I would say, it just depends on how you take to the drugs, I was a borderline whether I would react albeit I was on a large dose!
I'm feeling as though my AF is about to start, on knicker watch. The symptoms are very similar to my normal cycle ;( , although reading up it may be my wee emby getting it's self comfy for the next 9 months! xfingers other than that it is dragging and I'm only on day 5 :faint: . Trying to stay positive!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question..... keep me posted xx

Not going to tell you that this is easy, it's probably the biggest roller coaster I've been on from an emotional point of view....I have been suffering really bad AF pains and it turns the positivity in to a deep negative! My devoted hubby has been my rock and must be the most positive person I know!

Lissy - just to say sorry it didn't work this time. Been following this thread for a couple of weeks as I'm considering to go to Nuffield for our next attempt (had two BFN at a clinic abroad this year). I just found out this Monday we had a BFN so I know it simply is crap.

Oh how exciting for you! Will be nice to read your updates! What protocol are you on? I think I read further down that your AMH was 16 or so? Mine was 13 last autumn and not had it retested again. I was on short protocol with 300 Menopur for the first attempt, and 375 Menopur second time, but this time did not react as well and had only 3 mature eggs out of 9, so not sure it worked for me very well.

Hi Danube.... I am excited but also soooo nervous! This will be our only try at a private clinic then we will just need to wait on the long list at the Glasgow Royal, so I am :shush: big time that it works! To be honest I'm not sure on the protocol, the nurse said that it will be the "normal" treatment, so whatever that is I will be on it from Friday! I thought 16 was quite low but she has assured me that this is average..... everything is just a worry isn't it.... I say you have had 2 attemps .... sorry they never worked for you :-( How did you find the treatment, it's been a rollercoaster for me already and it's still to really begin...

Hi wantabubba

I was on the short protocol which meant I only had to wait for AF to arrive and then started stimming on day 2 for about 10 days, with 2 scans at the czech clinic and then egg collection and embryo transfer. Overall I didn't find it too bad, although I found all the small hurdles on the way and dealing with them a bit challenging - before I did it I expected the 2ww to be the big challenge. DH did all my injections for me.

Keep us posted how it's going! :)

Especially in the 2ww, it's probably 1of the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life....you say it will be easy but hey it's mental torture! So try and not symptom watch as it drives you crazy!

Good luck

Hi Lissy.... good to see your back.... hope everything goes well on Thursday chick .... that's a bummer you have to wait 2 months, but probably best to let everything settle before round 2 begins!! And as I said before, loads of people get the result they want second time around.... sure you will be the same! I done my first injection this morning and it went fine, so proud of myself... kinda finding this strength that I never knew I had, and that can't be a bad thing! Anyway... Hi Lissy....

Getting on fine, been taking Gonal F for 6 days now and I was in this morning having my first scan, and accordingly to the Nurse everything is looking good so far. It's such a nerve racking process though ... you can't help but worry about everything! Been ok with the meds, alittle grumpy but my hubby has been great. Still feeling very positive so here's hoping! Should be next week before I go in for the actual treatment... I will keep you posted. How have you been anyway? No still have to phone to make an appointment. We have to do a major trip to Austria in September for 3 weeks, so don't expect to do another treatment before well into October or even November. But I know I need to get a move on at least setting up the consultation to start with so at least we know where we are.
