clomid question

ok so we and mu dh went to see a fertility dr and were told that my tests were normal but dh had slightly low count and normal mobility and shape. dr put me on clomid to start next cycle and to undergo iui. well due to this not being covered with insurance, we dont want to spend our savings on an iui just yet. so i wanted to know the pros and cons of me taking the clomid that he prescibed me and not going back for the ultrasounds or the iui and see what happens. or maybe just takin clomid and going back for the ultrasound is an option and just not doing the iui just yet would be a better option. in the mean time dh has been taking fertilityblend for men and we are still trying to conceive naturally on our own. need advice

Hi and welcome to FZ

This thread gives you some information about clomid INFO: A ROUGH GUIDE TO CLOMID

If you do choose to take it then you must go for the ultrasound scans. This thread explains why they are so important INFO: CLOMID - MONITORING/TRACKING

This thread gives you an overview of IUI INFO: A ROUGH GUIDE TO IUI If your problem is with your DH's sperm rather than you then this is likely to be why they suggested IUI. Clomid is prescribed with IUI to stimulate the ovaries in order to produce mature eggs for fertilization.

At the end of the day only you and your DH can decide which course of action to take. Either way if you are going to go against the advice of your doctor then it goes without saying that you should discuss it with them first.

I hope this helps. Good luck
