HIV blood test

Hi All

I had an appointment with my doctor today, which was a waste of time because they messed up getting me a HSG appointment. :cross: But anyway the only thing he wanted to do today was for me to have a HIV, hep a and c blood test before putting me on IVF waiting list. Is this normal and i thought the results took up to 6 months to get, do i have to wait that long before they put me on the list? ?(

Hi
I had all those blood tests too but I started treatment straight away. I dont know if this is because we are self funding or not. Hope this helps. You can always ask the clinic about waiting times I am sure they will be able to help you :xxx3:

I think it really is normal. In Switzerland, where I am living at the mo, you can't have IVF without that test!

I only had IUI and I had to be tested as well. The test result does not take that long - we get them within 24 hours here. What you have heard about 6 months for HIV testing is if you have been exposed you need to be tested immediately and again 6 months later to be sure that you have not been infected...
