IUI CHITTER CHATTER!

Hi ya peeps!

I thought it might be a good idea to start up a new thread where we can all chat about how we all feel about IUI, have a moan when we need to, compare notes, get to know each other a lil better and support each other when support's needed?

Look forward to chatting to you all and getting to know you all lil bit better in the near future :D

Good luck peeps! xfingers

There you are, I was wondering where you'd got too!

Fingers crossed for the weekend then, I hope all goes well!

How many vials of sperm are you using? We only used one but I've heard of people using two - any thoughts on what's better?

Hi everyone and thanks for the good wishes,

We heard today that we'll be having the IUI on Saturday. I'm even more excited now! What I don't understand is that last time (3 years ago) they could only tell us the day before when we'd have it, so I'm slightly nervous that now they can tell 2 days ahead - seems less accurate somehow. Anyone know how?

Hi Indie chick! My mum was asking me the same question tonight. We are just having 1 vial. We haven't been offered the choice, but as we've only got 5, I think I'd rather spread them out.

Hi Torison, Glad your appointment went well. Good luck and lots of baby dust.

Hiya everyone :hello:
Great idea for this thread Fairy.

Just had 2nd IUI yesterday. Went back to work straight afterwards :comp: (daft thing to do really!) with a bellyache that felt at times like my bits were about to fall out. Made it feel a bit better when hubby had an enormous bouquet of flowers sent to work to mark our 20th wedding anniversary :flowers: - and maybe felt a little guilty that he couldn't be with me for this 2nd try at IUI. Not even there for the conception eh? :snigger: Cons did however "prescribe" sex for that evening(anybody elses cons do this?) so he "did his duty" twice in one day. Not bad for over forty!

Cherrychocolate - my cons has given me 2 days notice on both IUI's so far so I haven't known any different. Also makes it better for going back to work & booking the time off, but even better for you being the weekend. Good luck for Saturday.

I've just got to be patient now. Drugs give me a 3ww so have to wait til 13th May to do HPT. At least I've managed to design my 1st ticker tonight.

Good luck & :sticky:

Hiya.
Had been on what seemed like an age of drugs to get the follies going this month - started on Puregon & then moved to Menopur (3 vials a night) - total time on both drugs was about three weeks b4 procedure. Had a £75 a day drug habit towards the end and no chance of getting high either! :snigger: Now on pregnyl for 2 jabs -for next 2 saturdays - to avoid those horrid sounding pessaries
Not thought about a coping strategy, just gonna behave as PUPO and try not to think about it too much. (Apart from every time I go to the loo & expect there to be "the red stuff")

Why is it when you are told you can't have something, you want it all the more?
I know that [zx084] is off the cards but having naughty thoughts at the mo. Also very strangely had a dream that Simon Cowell made advances on me last night! Maybe he was looking for a different kind of British talent eh? :snigger:
Also, don't really drink that much but have been chancing 1 glass of wine a night since Thursday :drunk: (should us 2ww'ers stay tee-total? Maybe that's why Mr Cowell cropped up in my dream)

Birthday today :birthdaycake: (Sunday) and cooking good ol' roast beef & all the trimmings for the family coming over. Not told them bout our current situation as Dad's coping with chemo following a diagnosis of lung cancer just b4 Xmas & I think they've enough on their plate w/out worrying if I can get pg. Besides I know Mum would be trying to contribute towards treatment for us, bless her.

Hope everyone is doing ok & getting through the respective waiting times.
Will do an AF dance for you Indiechick

Hi Everyone,

Well I had the IUI done yesterday. It was fine. I was slightly reassured about the timing as I am doing temperature charting and my temp went up and I had egg-white (if you're not doing charting, they mean you've ovulated.)

Now I'm on 2WW - better get myself a ticker!

Torison - good luck for tomorrow - hope you can do it this month.

Best wishes

Happy Birthday Caz, hope you have a lovely Birthday and a belated birthday BFP! Totally understand you not mentioning in things to your Ma and Pa, hope your Dad is coping ok ,I know how tough chemo can be!

Cherry - Great news, fingers crossed for a stress free 2WW and a BFP!

Hello everyone else - hope your all well!

AF is making an attempt to arrive but no show just yet, think it will be tomorrow - unsure whether to go for IUI this month as it's so close to my hols and last time I wasn't basted till day 17 as my follies were a bit slow, and as you can see it's only 22 days to my hols - whoo hoo! I would hate to OV late and then not even get to basting! I go on hols on the Monday and so the last day for basting would be the Fri which would be day 19 - surely I'd be good to go before that???

If I don't do it I can have a few drink on hols and if I do I'll have a relaxing 2WW - arrgghh I'm confused what do I do?

Hello all
Thanks for the welcome messages.

Can I suggest a good read for you all, I've just started reading Jules Olivers booked 'minus nine to one' book, its fantastic. She suffered with various gynae problems and had to go through loads of tests and went on Clomid etc. Its a real heartwarming and hilarious book of all that she and Jamie went through to get their two beautiful girls. I've only read about 15 pages and its great I can't put it down! Its very down to earth and has actually given me hope in one day that I'll have children! Sorry, very deep and meaningful of me but a great read!!!

Hi Donna (or anyone else if they have experience re my question)

I'm due to start IUI from my next cycle which is due on/around (periods are a bit unpredictable!) the 6th of May. I've been given Clomid to take from days 2-6 of my cycle, as this is the first time of taking this drug is there any advice that you'd give? Is there a best part of the day to take it etc? I also need to check with my consultant that its just one tablet (50mg) per day that I need to take. He might have told me but as I was so pleased that he was taking steps for me most of what he said at the appointment went over my head in happiness!! :snigger:

I just have heard that it can make you moody and need to forewarn my DH!! he he he

Any tips appreciated xx

Hi Donz,

Just wanted to say glad you got your drugs through and good luck when you get started. Can't be many times when we're actually desparate for AF to arrive!

Sar1977 that book sounds good - I'd never realised they'd struggled to concieve. Just goes to show you can look at people and think it must have been so easy, but there's another story behind the scenes!

Well I am on 2WW. Got that AF about to arrive feeling and feeling a bit sick. I had these symtoms when I got BFP last time, but I'm sure it's all in my head. Only had IUI done 3 days ago so it won't even have implanted yet!
