Shirley Oaks Hospital, Croydon

We are having our second ICSI treatment at Shirley Oaks who share the ET with the Bridge Centre in London.

It's difficult to rate a centre when the reasons for choosing are so personal - we live near by so the decision was based on convenience and gut feel - however here goes:

Pros :D
- Very nice and professional nurses who keep in regular contact with you
- Good consultant with strong background in infertility treatment
- Opens early (7am) so can fit in scans before work and at weekend
- Relatively modern hosptial
- No extra charges in the bill (ICSI treatment costs 3500 in total, not incl drugs)
- Everything is written down for you in case you forget

Cons
- DH has to take eggs up to London after EC for fertilisation
- ET at bridge centre and not Shirley Oaks

Somewhere in the middle: ?(
- Average success rate

On both goes we've been happy with Shirely Oaks but we have said that if we're not successful this time we'll look at another centre to see if our luck changes. However, would recommend this centre to anyone starting out on this journey as they make you feel very comfortable and looked after.
