Thanks Andi :D
Does anyone know how the accupuncture link works with IVF Wales? I used the link from Kara's thread above and found the clinic in Cardiff but I was wondering how it links with the hospital I am presuming I will have to pay. I am on my free go with the hospital. Has anyone had accupuncture with IVF in Cardiff, is it very expensive?, has anyone had a positive experience? ?( I went to a chinese accupuncturist in Cardiff a few years ago and they wanted £500 up front, and when I looked at the leaflet my friend and her sons name were on the back 'thanking them for helping her to conceive' - she is a perfect size 8, runs a mile a day, and has never had a fertility problem (she conceived her two children the first months of trying), it was a lucky escape I probably would have paid the money if I did not see her name! X(

Hi Roxy,

I've had acupuncture at the Jacqueline Brown clinic in Whitchurch on the day of ET but I usually go to Cowbridge for mine. My acupuncturist Pauline works at both clinics and she was working at Whitchurch on my ET day. My cycle failed but I didn't have a great embryo so I don't know if any amount of acupuncture would have helped.

I think acupuncture will have to be private as it's not part of the NHS treatment offered at the clinic. It's £45 a session in Whitchurch and £35 in Cowbrdge.

Thanks ladies :hello:
The Whitchurch clinic was the one I was thinking of trying so thats a big help - I have to go in for a big operation to have the left ovary, tube and laser work done on lots of areas so I have got so much resting on this IVF cycle working. this site really helps, the hospital, my family and GP are making a big fuss at the moment because i have responded :poorly: to the IVF drugs and am very high risk of hyperstim I have been told to quit by almost everyone :talkhand: but I want to at least try, you have all been through so much on your own journies It helps me not to feel alone blowkiss
I will be on this site everyday with fingers crossed for you both - perhaps we can help each other through this attempt and this will be our time :xxx3:

Hi,
Yes this is my first cycle after years of horrendous endo. I'm also at the clinic Thursday to see Mr Griffiths.
I've been trying to sort out buying Menopur today - I'm not eligable for free treatment, I've asked my GP if I could have Menopur on the NHS they said I could if I lived in another county in Wales but unfortunately Cardiff Health Board won't do it. Does anyone else now if this is true? Has anyone had a prescription for this who live in the Cardiff area or anywhere else in Wales? I'm going to have to take it for three weeks so it's going to cost a fortune!
Good luck to you both, hope we can keeping chatting here. x

cheapest ivf drugs i found....much much cheaper than clinic

i have been lucky and had 2 lots of drugs funded....i like in pembrokeshire

you will need to stimm for around 12 to 14 days while the menopur

mr griffiths is lovely, he did my second lap and a 3d scan,

Thanks Kar1, called Ferring today for prices, I think they want me to start Menopur on Monday, I told them my husband is away for a week on the 10th of March so they said I'll have the ec the week after so that takes it to three weeks, I'm hoping they'll leave me on the down regs for another week instead, is that most likely what will happen? I'll have to speak to Mr G at the clinic Thursday for a prescription to be sent to them. Yes he is great, it took twenty years for me to be diagnosed with endo in 2003 and since then I've had four laps and the last one was with him, it's great to have a consultant who's so understanding about the condition. I'll be seeing him thurs morning, but good luck ripandcap with your appointment, and good luck kar1 with your 2ww :goodluck:

They quoted 11.80 per vial, I don't understand why I got the Supecur on NHS but I can't have this one....anyway.....I was told that I'll need 375...I guess that's 3x75?....it's taking me ages to get my head around all of this, there's so much info to take in so forgive me if I sound dumb! I want to check with Mr G though I've got so many questions I need to ask him this week, I had an appointment two weeks ago and thought it was going to be with him but it wasn't, there are many questions on the paperwork I need to check too before I sign away.

Looks very soft in photo.

Due to caps age and our work commitments he stayed at my aunts when i moved out in 2003. As my uncle retired just after it was best for him to stay there. A day never passes that i don't take him for a walk. He don't walk far now though with his arthritis but still manages a mile or 2 in the mornings.

Also had my appointment today with Mr Griffiths...he's so nice and patient with me as I had so many questions to ask him. Anyway got to keep D/R for now...been doing it for 7 months now due to endo so a week or so more won't make much difference, I'll have my baseline scan Monday then they'll take it from there, so it's all go now!
