Crikey!! Good luck!!

I think your nerves are completely normal under the circumstances, it'll soon be over though and you have so much to look forward to.

Thankyou for your support girls it is very much appreciated.
Well I got back from hospital on saturday and everything seems to have gone well. Not in as much pain as I was and my husband is driving me crazy, he won't let me do anything!!!!!!!!
My consultant suprised me by saying that I ought to start ttc as soon as I am pain free and comfortable....I always thought that you had to leave quite a gap after this kind of surgery!!!!??? I did question him on this and apparently for the first 2/3 weeks after the operation my tubes will be quite wide so the risk of ectopic will be less?? He say's that risk of ectopic is around 15%.
They very nearly didn't do the operation because I had worked myself up that much that my blood pressure shot through the roof, they actually said my bp was at a dangerous level and that if it didn't drop they would not do the op and I would have to go to my doctors to have some tests and maybe be put on tablets to control it.
I have never had problems with my bp before so naturally I started to panic that there was something seriously wrong with me which made things even worse.
They tested me every half an hour for 3 hours and I eventually went down at 6.45pm.
Feeling rather sore at the moment and the pain killers they gave me are sending me daft but overall I am very happy and excited about the future.
Thankyou again all of you and I will keep you updated. :hugs: :thanx:

Update

Hi all,
well I'm all healed up ( externally anyway) and raring to go :D
Problem is my AF is late!!!!! :8o:
Spoke to my consultant earlier to see if my surgery could cause a delay and he said it was possible but also that I should repeat a pregnancy test if I havn't come on by friday. Me and dh did bed down just over a week ago but I'm sure it was after ovulation so I find it highly unlikely that I am pregnant, I did a clear blue test this morning and it was negative, so ?????????
I am still getting all the usual pains that come with AF but nothing is happening, so will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

sterilization reversal

i want to get my sterilization reversed.i had my tubes clipped with filshie clips in 2001.
my local nsh won't do the reversal so i will have to go private.
has anyone had this done, and could reccommend somewhere.
is it cheaper to go abroad to get it done?
would i be better to have ivf?
i would be greatful for any advice
thanks

Hi Katie

I have looking into this recently and had an appointment with a consultant a couple of weeks ago - I was quoted £3,500 and he stressed that there is no guarantee it would work as the tubes may be too damaged from the clips and it also depends whereabouts on the tube the clips were. There is also an increased chance of ectopic pregnany due to scarring on the tubes.

The op itself is quite a biggie and you are in hospital for 3-4 nights and out of action for at least a month if not 6 weeks as they are cutting right through your stomach muscles.

We have decided to go for IVF again but it was a tough descision and not one we made overnight.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi NikNakNat
I am so glad your op went well. I have been for my initial consultation and am waiting for next month to have blood tests to see if my ovaries are working well. My dp has to have sc done too. We are feeling very apprehensive and stories like yours give us some hope of success!!

Wishing you all the very best in ttc!! And hope that we can get the right results and undergo the reversal very soon!

So sorry - don't know where my brain is today!!! I see that you conceived very quickly! Well done you! I hope that all has gone well for you!!!!

A quick question - How long between testing to see if all ok and the op?

Thanks

MiMi
